Singing through the Pain

Feb 21, 2006 22:06

A while back, I mentioned that I'd had a sore throat - on and off - since October. The swine seemed to have wandered off, but came back whilst I was visiting St. Andrews last week. Damn thing is persistant. Anyhow, as part of my regime of treatment for this, I went to a group session with a voice therapist today. To my amazement, instead of telling me to stop waisting her time, she's asked me to come back for treatment. Apparently, I'm tensing up my throat too much when I talk. Or something. I also stopped taking my antacids in St. Andrews, which may be why it made a comeback. And here I thought they weren't doing anything.

Went to choir practice, despite the throat. It doesn't stop me singing, although I'm paying for it now. Owch. Perhaps I should have sat and listened.

Glasgow City Council have acknowledged my job application. Now all I have to do is wait for the interview call or the rejection letter. GCC are notoriously slow to get anything done, so I don't expect I'll hear anything for at least two weeks.

I'm presently quite tired, and need a hot choccy before I turn in for the night. I also need to wash the car (I think it may have a bodywork made of 50% dirt) and do some work on Space Age. I'm most disappointed in you guys for saying nothing about my notes, but I recognise you're all busy. Please give me some feedback! Just an itty bit! Even if it's to say "I need more than this to give you feedback".

Well, I'm off to bed. Later days!
