Over the waters in our mind

He looks in the gentle shore waters for a smooth stone, finds one quickly. Shining gemlike eyes lift it out of the water, and study it for a moment. A red-purple, perfect oval, and just the right size. Two parallel lines of quartz a centimeter apart divide the stone into three sections. Beautiful. He positions it, pulls his arm back, and lets it fly. Jumping thirty times, then sailing across the water for at least fifteen feet when it can no longer lift itself. It sinks slowly into the clear, cold water. All the time, his eyes are fixed, studying its flight and how the water splashes and falls. Ripples in the lake, like the cold of the water running down his arm as it caresses his body. He takes a deep breath and lets the fresh mountain air invigorate him. He looks down next to his feet while inhaling, to find the rock he just threw lying by his side. A smirk appears on his face and he kneels and reaches down.

Remember the stars?
How beautiful they look against that
Dark sky, just a hint of blue
Fading into eternity
The stars shine
And will always show you the way
To lose yourself

So many things I'm too lazy to get done.
