Bummed...

Okay so today I'm really bummed out. Yesterday Rob told me that he had a plane rented out for us for today and we were going to fly somewhere. Well, I thought we were going to St. Augustine for the day which I was really happy about because I love it there and it has my favorite restaurant. Well, last night Rob told me that we weren't going there

I try to talk about the whole engagement thing but Rob is kinda old school when it comes to things like that. He feels like it should totally be up to the man and the woman shouldn't have any say (including picking out the engagement ring...he does know what I like though). Sometimes I feel bad about always bringing it up because he has such a stressful job that I don't want to add more on top of it. I don't expect to be engaged/married tomorrow but I would like a general timeline on the issue. I think that next week when he gets back from work I'm going to bring it up again. I've pretty much decided that if by January he hasn't proposed I'm going to give him an ultimatum. I hate for it to get to that, but it will have been 7 years by then and I refuse to be someone's lifetime girlfriend. I think another thing that scares him is that SOOOO many people we know are getting engaged/married after not dating all that long and they are having a lot of problems. Rob and I are both from divorced families.

Jess - Rob is a pilot. We used to have our own plane, but put it on the market because we were going to get something a little bigger and faster. The old plane sold after only being listed for 12 hours. Rob started to process of looking for another plane but work got too busy and he just hasn't had time. Whenever we need to go anywhere we just rent a plane from a flight school.
