Subject line is a joke, but seriously a lot has happened. I went in for my study abroad interview with Fr. Art yesterday. He told me I'm all set up for Mexico this summer but I have big problems with my Ireland application. See, I didn't do too hot in OChem in the fall making it pretty much impossible to study abroad anywhere as a Chem major. My only option as a chem major was to take a fifth year and hope to get into Ireland two years from now. NOT happening! So instead, I changed to a math major... This way, I can retake Ochem in the fall to boost my gpa and get me into ireland for the spring. Plus I already have most pre-reqs for math so I would still graduate in 4 years! So yesterday I went on a mad dash around campus: met with the head of the math department, got it okayed to change my major, met with my chem advisor so I could change my current schedule, found the teachers of my new classes and got caught up on curriculum, changed classes at the registrar, got new books, sold old ones, went to college of arts and sciences and officially changed my major. It was INTENSE! So yeah, I'm a math major and I'm goin to Dublin next Spring!

At first I was upset because I like chemistry more than math but I'm really happy with the outcome. It sounds cheesy but when I talked to my mom right after my meeting with Fr. Art she said "well, God has a plan for everything!" and I was like whatever. But today after going to my new classes and meeting with the math teachers, I really like the position I'm in now. In chemistry I just constantly felt stupid and the nerdtastic kids wouldn't really let me in their club. Now I have a lot of good friends with the same major as me and I feel like I fit in more. I'm really happy with the way things worked out and I'm glad that it happened when it did.

Yay!
