I should've figured it was going to happen eventually, but I didn't think it'd be this soon. It started yesterday as I was getting ready to go to work. Right as I was about to start the car up, I got a call from my boss saying not to worry about showing up at 10 since it'd been so damn slow, and that he'd call me back around 11. Then around that time I get another call saying I basically had the day off since things really hadn't picked up. Today followed the same pattern more or less, except when I called to find out whether or not I'd be needed for the day, I get the news that I'm going to be phased out, because business has died down to the point where the cooks/bakers can do their own dishes without much hassle. I'll be able to come in Sunday, since things usually get busy then, but as it stands I probably won't be needed after that. I've kind of got mixed feelings about it. On the one hand I'm a bit bummed, seeing as how I don't have a job and therefore won't be earning money. On the other hand, I'm almost relieved to not have to be doing dishes anymore, and the fact is, I was planning to quit in October anyway to look at getting some kind of computer job in Anchorage. I guess now I'm going to have all the time I need to look for that.
