(no subject)
The last two days have been fun. Yesterday David and I went to BookPeople and Waterloo (Records, that is, not icehouse) I bought 5 CDs: Islands, The Boy Least Likely To, Meredith Brooks, Apples in Stereo, and Oppenheimer. So far, I have listened to Oppenheimer the most. Also, David gave me a bajillion CDs to burn. I don't remember all of them, but there was Pavement, MIA (<3!), Neutral Milk Hotel, REM, Guided by Voices... some more. AND THEN I creatively took music from this great web of electrons, in whole Album form: Klaxons, Fly Pan Am, Frou Frou, Kimya Dawson, Fuck Buttons, Gang of Four, Manu Chao, Spoon, The Velvet Underground, Tilly and the Wall (they are so much poppier than I knew!), Women.
What else did I do yesterday? Hmmm. Oh I made a terrible dinner. Well, okay, it wasn't terrible. I set high standards for myself. David did really like the rice, even though it was all mushy. :(
And then today I learned to ride a bicycle. It was pretty kickass. My friend John taught me. I am still not that good, but I'll keep practicing. When I went home and told another friend that I literally learned how to ride a bike about 3 hours ago, she got all excited and wanted to ride around with me, so we did that. While at her house, we prank called a mutual friend who is really shy and whom we haven't seen all summer. It was really funny and he bought it. And bonus, he called me later to get people together to hang out (although it never happened). I was supposed to hang out with another friend, but I couldn't get ahold of him until too late. I hung out with David and his brother and his brothers friends for a while. Then just David. Then I got really nauseous and came home.
Tomorrow will probably be more dorm shopping and then...? Possibly seeing Pinapple Express tomorrow. Maybe. Sunday I get to see Shaan and I'm pretty excited, it's been a long time.
