And it isn’t Harry that ends that way, at the Joker’s hand. Harry has found his own path and so if, years later, he does feel anger towards Bruce, at least he’ll feel that anger from a position of independence, not from the futility of always struggling to prove that. If, years later, he cannot forgive the lies and world Bruce pushed him into, well at least he will hold his grudge as a man. And, if years later, Harry finds his life is a mess, his world is a shambles and his reality is skewed to the point where all he can see is the world the rest of us steadfastly ensure remains below the surface, then if that is the life finds himself in, then at least it will be his own mess. At least he will not live perpetually trapped in a mess of Bruce’s making always wondering why it doesn’t quite fit, always wondering why he was never quite what was needed. ( ... )

Hey, I'm glad it was OK.
The irony is that the opening line is close enough to the truth that Bruce knows it's believable but it's not really what he completely believes, you know?

And yeah I've been feeling sorry for Jason Todd a lot lately.

OOC: This is beautiful. You make me like Jason! *L* Canon!Kara would try to comfort or find Bruce because she lacks a father figure, and Emma (if she wasn't emotionless) would be searching for him right now. GAH.

Aws. Thanks for commenting. It's nice to know people are reading - I've been so slow wrapping this up.

I actually really like Jason. I completely *get* him. I love his anger about everything and his desperation and his absurd and contradictory attempts at independence. I love Dick because Dick is such a standup guy dispite everything. Tim is the one who has always rubbed me the wrong way.

I think Damian may be my favourite Robin tho!

So I guess I'm against popular opinion... Damian and Jason!
