Well today was just ridiculously crazy for me. But I obviously made it through lol.
Tonight's concert went pretty well. I heard a couple of mistakes that came from the front but maybe it was because of our arrangement in the room. I missed a key change in one of the pieces :-(, definitely not up to par for my professional level. We got a couple of standing ovations and such, it was awesome. The Governor of Vermont conducted "The Thunderer", that was definitely added in during this past drill weekend because I had no clue that was happening. I mean I knew we added the piece in this weekend out of nowhere but I didn't know the Governor was conducting it. He did pretty well for a politician, he did the tempo changes and dynamic changes right where they were suppose to be. It's funny because he's played in the percussion section a couple of times during Troop Return Ceremonies in the past, granted it was on bass drum so it's not that hard but still. If I were a Vermonter this guy would have my vote.
So because of the concert tonight I totally missed Lyre Night with the freshmen. I got back right as everyone was coming into the barracks. So I said hi to all of the freshmen and welcomed them all to the Zoo. Hopefully they aren't a gay class.
