Ah!
So Wednesday night, right before the Midsummer Night's Dream performance where I was already performing fairies, the orchestra was tuning up right before the overture started and Lorita(our ballet mistress) comes backstage and asks me if I can perform Alyssa's part in the Wedding scene(she had hurt her ankle the day before in rehearsal). Now I'm an understudy for this part, and didn't have a rehearsal, which is not only stressful for the dancing, but stressful because it involves partnering and I haven't tried the steps with my partner. So without a rehearsal and never trying it in the space, i went in! It was stressful but yet VERY exciting and exhilarating! The company was A HUGE help! They were so kind/supportive/and wonderful, and it was definitely a highlight night of the season for me. Gil, Sandy, and Lorita were very happy and even though I know I didn't do everything correctly, it was one of those nights that I'll never forget and am truly thankful for!
