So last night we had a little party at Jamie's apartment for the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics. We ordered Chinese, made our own Olympic torch, and watched the festivities in awe. I mean seriously, the asians are FREAKING RIDICULOUS. those ceremonies were the shit. got back to my apartment around 11 and completely zonked out.
woke up this morning to get ready for work, went to the studios, had class with Sandy(Sandra Brown, former ABT soloist), and was done for the day. It was so weird not to have rehearsal and the rest of the studio company tried to figure out what we should do with the rest of our day. So we changed (in our dancer locker room with our own individual lockers and naked bodies running around trying to organize and get together our dirty leotards and tights from the week), and headed down to 16th street. 16th street is also known as 16th street mall because it is literally a mile long street that has been transformed into a mall of sorts, with tons of restaurants, stores, bowling alleys, clubs, etc. We ate lunch at the corner bakery, walked to the tattered cover(this HUGE amazing bookstore that you can literally stay for hours and become completely absorbed by all the awesomeness surrounding you), down larimer square, and to the theatre. The Denver Performing Arts Center where we will be performing is INCREDIBLE. it is the second largest PAC in the country, second only to Lincoln Center. It's absolutely beautiful. After checking it out and the Backstage Cafe, we headed back down to 16th and then to the Buffalo Exchange to get Alli a birthday gift(crazy cowboy shirt and cowboy hat!).
Tomorrow is Alli's bday and we are making her dinner, I of course am baking, and then going line dancing at the Grizzly Rose! It should be quite the happening time and def looking forward to it.
As for tonight I'm just chillin in the camellia at my apt and having my own gilmore girls marathon. It makes me miss my mom and look forward to seeing both of my parents in September...which will be here before I know it. I can't believe that everyone is starting to go off to school....since I moved so early it seems like everyone should be home for so much longer, but really, on tuesday i start my fourth week of work....that's so weird....oh! maybe I get paid! wooohooo big check...NOT. :D
love and miss you all.
