Beautiful fall weather the past few days here just off Cape Cod. Bought two more bird feeders in the hope of finding ones that squirrels can't get into. I must have 10 feeders in the shed that didn't work. First birds I saw were chickadees which I just learned is the Massachusetts state bird.
Barbara is getting around better and often doesn't bother with the walker. Unfortunately she is having lower back problems which seem related to a back operation in 2009 where they put a bridge between two parts of her spine to hold them apart. The bones were supposed to fuse to the bridge but evidently it didn't work or didn't hold for very long. The surgeon says she needs an operation but neither she nor her family doctor feel good about doing an operation, so we'll work at finding some kind of pain management.
I'm still kitchen cleanup person and clothes washer, but Barbara is starting to do the cooking.
Tomorrow is yearly checkup with cancer doctor. I'm pretty sure everything is fine since my spleen was removed a few years ago.
Oldest son and two grandsons are coming for a visit in October. That will be a treat.
Patriots winning against Buffalo made my Sunday. Been a Boston sports fan for close to 80 years.
