1. Patrick Chan with 249.19
2. Evan Lysacek with 237.15
3. Takahiko Kozuka with 221.76
starting off with jeremy ten, he brought an immediate sense of passion and intensity.
vaughn chipeur gave a performance worthy of canada's praise.
soon after lysaceks performance, i began to doubt whether chan would be able to keep up.
however, chan and his interpretation to rachmaninoff, he blew me away.
like ive said. patrick chan is perfection on ice and defies the laws of physics.
in just two strokes, he already reached the other end of the rink. such grace and speed.
regardless of whether he popped that triple/quad.
never you mind chan, you'll get another chance.
the world championships are coming up. and soon the olympics.
and as for the women
1. Kim Yu-na with 189.07 (with a record breaking sp 72.24)
2. Joannie Rochette (beautiful)
3. Mao Asada
(caroline zhang was so close, the pearl didnt win you podium status :( )
joannie rochette's performance was as expected and possibly even more.
mao asada beautiful as well. forgot if she if landed all three triples. i think she did.
her first triple axel was brilliant (i think it was her first). the air she got was amazing.
she just bounced into that landing
i think my favourite part was caroline zhang's signature "pearl". god
how is that even possible. who knew the human body was capable.
as for kim yu-na (yuna kim), her body moves with such fluidity.
her technical skills are so refined at such a young age. work ethic my father calls it.
see, this is what ive missed out on. patrick chan... :(
(i havent kept up with this stuff in so long)
thank god i had a sudden craving to watch figure skating
and remembered the ISU championships were on.
