I was going through my notes the other day and found what could have been Recovery Journals #4 & #5 on one sheet of paper. I also sent out a whole slew of Thank you cards earlier this week, some of which were originally written while I was in the hospital. I have more Thank You notes to come. This is what I found out from both of the previous items:
1. Do not try to write "Thank You" Notes while you are on moraphine if at all possible. Don't do it while on most standard prescription narcotics either. My handwriting was bad and I seem to have lost three or four years of English grammar.
2. While it was very good that I wrote the journal as soon as it happened, I must have really been loopy from the meds and the surgery because I could not form complete thoughts and sentences. So, journal writing while on moraphine or prescription narcotics is verbotten as well.
3. I am very thankful to everyone who has been helping me through this painful affair to get me back on my feet. These include friends who drive me around and send positive vibes, relatives with well wishes and who visited me. my medical team (including my PCP, surgeon, the Pali Momi 6th floor nursing staff, the physical and respiratory therapist at Pali Momi, my surgery team) and especially my father who has been extremely helpful.
4. I really need to catch up with my journal writing to get back to today. So... I will see if I can get back to present times by Saturday.
