Retroactive New Years Resolutions 2008
This idea came from ladymondegreen .
1) Win a Jonathan Larson Award.
2) Be featured in 4 separate evenings at The Duplex in NY
3) Have songs featured in two programs in Chicago
3) Write a 15 minute musical in 24 hours.
4) Write and revise a full length musical in 2 months.
5) Have said musical workshopped by a college theatre department in 2009
6) Meet Sheldon Harnick and have him compliment my work as a lyric writer
7) Record 15 demo songs
8) Sign with an agent
9) Design and launch musical writing website
10) Be commissioned to write a spec demo and have someone else pay for it.
11) Have at least 2 non-platonic relationships
12) Manage marketing for a non-profit center and two theatre companies
13) Volunteer for a presidential campaign
14) Become obsessed with the political process and the coverage thereof
14) Seek new therapy for ADD
15) Learn to stop self negating and accept how ADD impacts my life
16) Have frank discussion with my parents about how the ADD impacts who I am
17) Decide to move to NY
Resolutions for 2009
1) Move to NY
2) Have a musical project developed or workshopped at two or more venues
3) Write two new original musicals by year's end
4) Land a musical writing job that pays
5) Find more male friends
6) Go on an average of one date per month or,
7) Have a non-platonic relationship with at least three different women or,
8) Have one relationship last longer than six months.
9) Spend more time with Raia and Judah (the niece and nephew)
10) Spend more time with the rest of my family
11) Discover a means of earning a living that I actually enjoy
12) Be mentioned in Playbill.com or BroadwayWorld.com at least 4 times
13) Be diligent in managing my time and appetite to combat the ADD
14) Have face to face contact with at least five different people each week
15) Find three new interests/hobbies to pursue that are not related to theatre/music or the computer
