Damn, this is an excellent story! I am ticked that I have to go to bed.

This chapter may be my favourite so far. Hamish's finalizing the plans for the trip to China is so unique, as is his denial of his trip to Underland despite the memory of his genuinely dirty shirt. His glimpse of Alice once again in an uncomfortable moment with the Hatter is interesting. It almost seems as if he sees her when she could really use his support and appreciate his friendship.

The fork at the end is a nice touch.

My absolute favourite sentence is when the scene vanishes before him, Mrs. Martin asks him when he would like dinner, and he replies that, "Now is convenient."
