yea! it kinda looks like shit cuz i was doing it with one eye, plus my digital camera has a very white flash thet amplifies the red.. it was more purple.. but i really like the gelatin, it was fun!!

Did you use Witchhazel on the edges? It desolved geletin a bit and help blend it.

i did, but the edges were too fat to begin with. i think i will have to re-do the mold.

Good work, but it's a bit hard to detect where your upper lip stops, maybe you paled it out a bit too much & in turn it absorbed too much purple.

Also, (cause i seem to be in a analytical mood) the blood should cover your mouth more. When hurt like that the blood wouldn't separate to the sides, it would just go downward as gravity directs it.

All I really see wrong with it is the edges and maybe a little more depth in the colorong...i.e. some more layers. I'm sure you know this, just giving an honest critique.

For a first attempt with gelatin, I think it looks great. Looking this good using a new medium means you should have it mastered in no time.

What is build up (if any) and what is molded pieces?

its all molded pieces. i have had no luck applying it directly to the skin/ building it up. it dries too fast!
