I've been thinking about this for a long time. Most of us know things "without oils" a la chocolate cake, plums, etc. have to be created with chemicals, accords, or other combinations of things to mimic the scent.
I was reading this and it really spoke to me:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/haley-alexander-van-oosten/natural-misconceptions_b_142978.html I think from now on I will refuse to apologise if my perfumes have to be reapplied. If I've put an artificial 'perfume oil' or scent ingredient into a perfume, then yes, you likely can expect it to last all day long (or reasonably so). But if it's "all natural", and TRULY "all natural" from essential oils, etc., then it is the volatile oils' nature to evapourate and fade. That's just how it is. For some perfumers, it's all about chemicals. I understand their discussions, but I have nothing to add to them.
Me, I like as natural as I can get.
