I remember reading about the new rules regarding forming the top 10, but then I would also swear last night Ryan said 5 girls and 5 guys were moving forward.

Only 5 girls and 5 guys?? Shouldn't it be 10 of each? I can't believe they'd get rid of so many contestants that quickly...

I heard that too. From what I understand, it will be five of each and then then the judges get to wild card two, to make twelve. Not necessarily one guy and one girl though so it can still end up gender top-heavy.

So it's only one week of semifinals! I thought they were cutting down Hollywood Week, but that was even longer.

When I heard they were doing 12 boys and 12 girls, I was bummed since I swore I heard something about them not doing gender equality this year and instead picking the top X number of singers regardless of gender. Guess not.
