Trailer Trash: Water for Elephants

Summary: A veterinary student abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a traveling circus as their vet.
Verdict: The whole thing looks a lot like Big Fish to me. Like, A LOT. They even have two actors playing the same role at different times. (Big Fish was kind of the least Tim Burton-y movie Tim Burton ever made, huh?) It looks gorgeous but the director (Francis Lawrence) is most famous for directing Britney Spears videos and I Am Legend. Not a great sign (although David Fincher also started in music videos, so you never know). Also not a great sign: Robert Pattinson as an American again. I haven't read this book (maybe I should) but I feel like there must have been an American actor who could have done it. Maybe someone who, you know, knows how to act?
