OUTSTANDING DRAMA
Lost
Breaking Bad
Dexter
Mad Men
True Blood
The Good Wife
OUTSTANDING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA
Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife)
Mariska Hargitay (Special Victims Unit)
Glenn Close (Damages)
Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer)
January Jones (Mad Men)
Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights)
[Joel McHale should win an Emmy for coming to Sofia Vergara’s rescue when she attempted to pronounce “Hargitay.”]
OUTSTANDING ACTOR IN A DRAMA
Jon Hamm (Mad Men)
Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights)
Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad)
Hugh Laurie (House M.D.)
Michael C. Hall (Dexter)
Matthew Fox (Lost)
[I can’t be too sad about Timothy Olyphant (spell check recognizes his name!) not being on here since they didn't nominate stupid Simon Baker. I don’t watch “Lost” and this is the last time Matthew Fox will ever pose a threat. (I also don't watch FNL but I am super happy for Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton.) But srsly, Olyphant guy needs an award nomination.]
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA
John Slattery (Mad Men)
Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad)
Martin Short (Damages)
Terry O’ Quinn (Lost)
Michael Emerson (Lost)
Andre Braugher (Men of a Certain Age)
[Andre Braugher? Random. My vote always goes to Aaron Paul, but I think Martin Short is probably going to win. Comedian going against type like that? Total Emmy bait. He was extraordinary on the show. I was wondering about his motives until the bitter end. But I think Campbell Scott should have been on there. He’s probably one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. His performance was terrifying because the character was terrified. It’s even scarier because of how real it was, how far a man will go to maintain his lifestyle. Very different from Ted Danson’s villain of Season One, who was more concerned with his reputation than his fortune.]
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA
Sharon Gless (Burn Notice)
Christine Baranski (The Good Wife)
Christina Hendricks (Mad Men)
Rose Byrne (Damages)
Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife)
Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men)
[Sharon Gless? Seriously, these Emmys are random! But so thrilled for Christina Hendricks! I wonder who will win this…]
OUTSTANDING GUEST ACTOR IN A DRAMA
Robert Morse (Mad Men)
Alan Cumming (The Good Wife)
John Lithgow (Dexter)
Ted Danson (Damages)
Gregory Itzin (24)
Dylan Baker (The Good Wife)

Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost)
Ann-Margaret (Law & Order: SVU)
Shirley Jones (The Cleaner)
OUTSTANDING COMEDY
Glee
Modern Family
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Nurse Jackie
30 Rock
The Office
[I guess we should be happy they didn’t nominate “Entourage” again? But seriously, “The Office” did not deserve it.]
OUTSTANDING ACTRESS IN A COMEDY
Lea Michele (Glee)
Tina Fey (30 Rock)
Toni Collette (The United States of Tara)
Julia Louis-Dreyfus (The New Adventures of Old Christine)
Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie)
Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation)
[As long as Lea Michele is on here, I’m happy. What if she won? I think I would cry.]
OUTSTANDING ACTOR IN A COMEDY
Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm)
Alec Baldwin (30 Rock)
Matthew Morrison (Glee)
Steve Carell (The Office)
Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory)
Tony Shalhoub (Monk)
[This category is so fucked up! Where do I even begin? I never watched “Monk,” but hasn’t Tony Shalhoub won enough of these? I think he has, like, 30. Okay, three. But he’s been nominated SEVEN TIMES. Who even watched that show! Old people, I know. I hate Larry David with the fire of a thousand suns. I actually watched some of that season of “Curb” because I wanted to see the “Seinfeld” stuff and they didn’t even nominate the good things from those! Steve Carell didn’t even deserve it this year. And don’t even get me started on Matthew Morrison. You know how I feel. His character is lame and he’s not nearly as watchable on TV as he is onstage. And the rapping. Oh God, the rapping. Joel McHale really deserved to be there. He announced the nominations. The Emmy dude was like “Our bad, I’m sorry.” I felt so awful watching his face while they announced all these other losers. He’s so funny, smart and charming on “Community,” even though he’s playing the straight role and he's basically a dickhead. Entertainment Weekly would call him a "doucheboat." It’s not terribly different from his “Soup” persona, but it’s certainly worthy of Emmy consideration. I think PopMatters summed it up best: "Luckily, the insanely likeable McHale grants Jeff a Bill Clinton-esque charm: you know he’s smug and dishonest, but you like him, so you just don’t care."]
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A COMEDY
Chris Colfer (Glee)
Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother)
Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family)
Jon Cryer (Two and A Half Men)
Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family)
Ty Burrell (Modern Family)
[Every single adult in the cast of “Modern Family” was nominated except for Ed O’Neill. I find this sort of strange. And no Tracy Morgan? He’s like the funniest person on TV! Burrell FTW, obvs. People are saying his role is leading, but at least “Modern Family” is an ensemble show. Have those people SEEN “Two and a Half Men?” Cryer plays one of the full men! And they consistently nominate him in Supporting! I think the actors themselves get to choose the category they want to be nominated in, but it doesn’t seem fair that they allow him to be in this category. He’s clearly a lead of that show. And while I do like him, he’s not as good as any of these other guys (or Danny Pudi, who totally sent me a direct message on Twitter when I said I was crossing my fingers for him).]

Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live)

Hope Davis (The Special Relationship)
Claire Danes (Temple Grandin)
