Yesterday, I finished reading
Keep Your Pecker Up by Lyn Rafe-Lawyer. The title is a bit of a "Oh My" type of thing, but "keep your pecker up" was a normal english phrase, like "keep a stiff upper lip." The story spans several generations and two wars (WW1 and WW2).
I really enjoyed this book. I actually set it on JB's nightstand for him to read. There are points that are a little confusing, because the author jumps from past to present with little to no warning (especially in the first chapter or two and the last chapter), and the ending is a bit abrupt given the flow of the story. Regardless, I obviously would recommend this book, especially to people who are interested in other cultures (it touches on a couple) and historic events (especially concerning those wars). Do I plan to read it again? Not sure. I'm not sure I'll hold onto the book after JB reads it, but oddly enough that's not a reflection on my opinion of this particular novel.
