Last night, I finished reading
Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein. It was an interesting read.
The story is about a man that was found on Mars. He was born there from the original crew that was sent there and consequently disappeared. A second ship was sent many years later to find out what they could about the original ship's disappearance. The learned what happened to the first crew, the ship, that there are Martians, and the Martians had been raising the human baby (now man) that was left behind. This story goes through his time on Earth.
This book was very interesting in the beginning, but seemed to jump tracks half way through. This sudden change made me begin to lose interest, but I trudged on. After a bit, it started getting interesting again, though was a bit strange. Then end worked well with the concept of the story.
There were a lot of interesting perspectives in the story, and a number of statements that left me nodding my head in agreement. Other times, I felt like it was a little too... strange.
Not a favorite, but one I would recommend to Sci-Fi fans, especially those that might like the naivety that early science fiction possessed.
