Faerie Festivals and the start of the prepping...

I'm definitely doing a whimsy faerie for the upcoming Faerie Festival. I didn't realize, however, that both Faerie Festivals that I was hoping to attend this year are only two weeks apart! Yikes! Don't know if we can make that happen, but we can see. JB is saving his weekly allowance for a tall bowler had for his tinkerer outfit. Me? Well... I used up my weekly allowance on lunch with my coworker yesterday. *whimpers* It will take some getting used to... this $10 a week thing.  :-p

I tried on a couple wigs I have for my faerie and my steampunk outfit. These were wigs I bought years ago and never really wore... they just didn't suit me. Well, they look very good to me now. Maybe it's because I'm older... or I lost weight... or have more confidence and am less insecure... or all of the above. The hard part is figuring out which to go with. The main ones I'm thinking about for either outfit (listed by color and style): shoulder-length bubblegum pink, shoulder-length wavy pure white, short spiky black with blue streaks, waist-length auburn, or shoulder length uber-curly brown. I have a few others that might work, but those are the main ones. My natural color may work too, since my face looks so young that my grey hair makes me look even more eccentric.

Then I also have to debate wings. I have a very lovely pair that I bought at the Faerie Festival in PA in 2007. They are beautiful and cute (I'll attach a picture below), but I'm also thinking it might be cool to make a pair. I have several ideas that I've been working on for years and I'm loving the idea of a pair that have a victorian-steampunkesque look to them; each design I was envisioning before would work well with this style anyways. *le sigh*

Here's a picture of the pair I have. (I'm the one in red.)

So... what I have thus far that can be used or vultured for the outfit:
* Yellow striped material
* Harlequin (black and white) material
* Striped pink and black girl stockings (to make into something else)
* Netted arm covers (the ones seen in my steampunk outfit pictures from Wicked Festival '09)
* Whimsical bustle and bustle pad (also seen in my steampunk outfit pictures from Wicked Festival '09)
* Checkered (black and white) tights
* Striped (black and white) thigh high stockings
* Striped (black and white) knit socks
* Striped red and white tights (bought to possibly make into faerie wings... we'll see)
* Various wigs and accessories to choose from
*Corset (unless I decide to go bare bellied. Bwahahahahah!)

It kinda makes me sad that I probably won't be doing the Pooka this year, but I'm really loving the idea of the Whimsy Faerie, Tinkerer, and Wind-Up Baby. It just seems like such a cute idea!!!
