Ski-blading/not the new movie post

Sorry gang, no movies this time (though I did finally see King Kong today). I don't have the time to review what I've seen since my last post, so I'll be doing that later (God willing). And now for something completely different....When we last left our hero:

Since my last post, a few things worthy of mention have happened. Dwayne moved out so now there are no willing parties to watch Jacob movies in the house aside from myself. I was getting ready for work when he was leaving and didn't really comprehend that I might not speak with him for quite a while so I decided to leave with a classy "Have a good one." Yeah, it struck me on the way to work that I was (and quite possibly am) an idiot.

Speaking of idiotic things, I decided a day or two ago that I'm going skiing with Comer and his church group to Winterplace (and by skiing, I mean ski-blading/snow-blading). We leave in about 5.5 hrs and I still need to shower, finish packing, and sleep. So I'll be making my first impression on the college group by being tired, irritable, and sleeping a lot on the bus. Then when I do wake up, I'll have the portable DVD player and my film snob movies (400 Blows, Aguirre, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, The Freshman, and Wild Strawberries). That combined with my classic literature and Su Doku books ought to scream intellectual (not my intent, but it seems bound to happen). And the fact that I don't know anyone going on the trip except for Comer should also be interesting.

I'm writing this more or less as a pre-caution. It's not terribly likely; but if I died on this trip, I wouldn't want my last post to be about pooping on plates.

It should be known that this trip is very illogical. 1)It costs a pretty decent portion of my last paycheck to be going. 2)I'm missing four days of work so I can go. 3)If I break a limb, it's going to be mighty hard to keep lifting those heavy batteries; so I'd probably get fired. 4)I only know one person so I'll probably seemed attached to Comer at the hip. 5)I appear to be getting no sleep and I'm well on my way to making a terrible first impression.

So here's hoping that I don't kill myself/break any bones (that goes for everyone else on the trip as well) and here's to Dwayne and my idiotic goodbye (pours from his 40). Have a pleasant four days and please be praying for the group and my probably calcium-deficient bones.
