All wired up - A Torchwood fic
Title: All wired up
Pairing/Characters: Jack/Ianto
Warnings/Spoilers: might contain a slight spoiler for “Adrift”
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 638
Summary: Jack and Ianto are alone in the hub but Ianto is distracted, Jack just doesn’t know by what.
Notes: This is my first attempt to write Torchwood fanfiction and I wanted it to be funny, sexy and “modern”. Ianto always appeared to be very “wired up” in terms of internet and seeing him watch TV during “The Stolen Earth” and laughing at the stupid jokes made me want to write a fic with a similar situation.
Passages written in italic are Ianto’s thoughts.

It’s one of those long and lonely nights at Torchwood headquarters with most parts of the hub hidden in darkness and the faint glow of the computer screens being the only source of light. The soft clicking of a keyboard can be heard from the corner of the room.
Chuckle.
Mouseclick.
“Ianto!”
Oh, I love how he always accentuates the last vowel of my name.
“Ianto, where have you gone off to again?”
Jack’s head pops out of the door to his office, his face brightens up noticeably as he discovers Ianto sitting at one of the PCs.
“There you are! Really, we should do something about that internet addiction of yours.”
He walks up behind Ianto and rests his hand on Ianto’s back while trying to read what’s written on the screen.
“Hmmm, have I become that boring?”
Jack’s hand slowly slides down Ianto’s back until it reaches the waistband of Ianto’s trousers.
“I should come up with something new to keep you interested.”
He lets his fingers walk up Ianto’s spine until they reach the shirt collar.
“Something…nice…”
Jack leans in and his lips brush Ianto’s ear.
“…and…exciting…”
He gently bites the warm, soft flesh of Ianto’s earlobe and smiles smugly.
Ianto’s gaze is still fixed on the computer screen, he tries to appear calm and composed but a sneaky little drop of sweat running down his temple gives away his tension. Jack’s smile tickles his ear and the corners of Ianto’s mouth twitch upwards ever so slightly. Jack’s hand creeps down the side of Ianto’s torso and rests on his hip possessively.
“There now, have I regained your attention?”
Jack takes half a step back and turns Ianto’s chair so that they are now facing each other. He places his hands on Ianto’s shoulders and softly kneads the muscles. Ianto looks at him expectantly while his left hand takes a hold of Jack’s hip to draw him closer. Their torsos are touching now. Jack’s hands slide up Ianto’s shoulders until his fingers are buried in the short brown hair and his thumbs are caressing those lovely high cheekbones. Their eyes lock and for a second Ianto thinks he can see something like a shadow running over Jack’s face before the smug smile reappears.
“I thought I heard you chuckle for a second.”
Ianto still doesn’t say a word and holds Jack gaze. Half questioning him, half mocking him.
“Must be something really fascinating going on there if you leave me alone for it.”
Jack’s gaze wanders to the computer screen before returning to Ianto’s face. He leans down for a kiss but straightens up again before their lips touch, his voice now being loud, proud and cheerful, as it usually is during the day when they are within the team.
“But it’s just the news!”
Jack’s eyes are wandering around, looking at nothing in particular now.
“Ianto Jones is more interested in reading about a cat riding a bus on the BBC news than in spending some quality time with his captain!”
“You have to admit it’s funny.”
Jack’s gaze returns to Ianto’s face and he flashes him an especially warm and irresistible smile.
“You’ve found your voice again. I like that. I’d like to hear it more often. Now then…”
Jack grabs Ianto’s hand and pulls him off the chair towards his office.
“…let’s see what you can do with that voice of yours.”
Ianto just grins and lets himself be pulled by Jack. Before switching off the computer screen, though, he changes the browser tab, clicks “log out” and closes it.
Poor old captain, of course I’m not chuckling about that silly cat! I’m just keeping up to date on Twitter.
