Happy and Sad
I can't reflect how wonderful my visit with the nuns was this weekend. Working alongside them was incredibly inspirational. I really enjoyed the feeling of community in St Martin's guest house, and I had a great time planting crops, helping with sheep and clearing brush and debris in the beef cattle pasture. There's much more to say, but I don't have the energy to write it right now.
On a very sad note, my mother wrote to me to say that she had my cat Gretchen put down last tuesday. She had been trying to reach me, but she had the wrong phone number for me. We had Gretchen for 14 years, but lately she had lost a lot of weight and probably had kidney failure as well as her thyroid condition. I will really miss her.
