Appreciating your Food
Abe: "So what is the best attitude to have while you are eating?
"Appreciation for those who have prepared it, for those who have grown it, for those who have transported it, for those who have delivered it. Appreciation for its existence. Appreciation for your ability to receive it. Appreciation for whatever it is. And if you will find something to appreciate when you are eating you will thrive."
"Now we're gonna offer one really big, bold statement. And if you can hear this and apply this, you will get the results you want with screamingly easy effort.
"I'm only gonna eat when I'm having downstream thoughts. I'm only gonna eat when I'm having downstream thoughts. So somebody puts something in front of you that is gooey and succulent and dripping with things you think you shouldn't eat . ... I'm only gonna eat when I'm having downstream thoughts. Lining Up Your Energy About Food (Los Angeles CA, 2008/02/02 CD)
So now you're thinking about eating something that you haven't been eating for a long time because you believe that it is not in alignment with the "shrinking" results that you're reaching for ... and now you're getting ready to dive into it. You've decided to just push through and take the action anyway. Is that a downstream action or an upstream action?
Guest: Upstream
It is, isn't it? We're not saying to you to stop paying attention to your behavior, because your behavior compounds whatever it is you've got going on vibrationally. We're suggesting that when you warm up with your thoughts and words, that then the behavior is easier to fall into alignment with too, you see. Until you can reach the place where you can feel it and really mean it that diving into that really feels downstream instead of upstream.
So the rule of thumb that we would use is, don't take action until you've lined up the energy first. And that's what we mean by spend at least as much time in warming up emotionally, vibrationally, as you do actually participating in the event of partaking of food. And as you begin doing that, you'll get your energy lined up, you'll be flowing downstream, and when you're flowing downstream vibrationally, the behavior that used to feel upstream will stop feeling so upstream. And when the behavior that used to feel upstream feels downstream, now the whole of you is in alignment and that's what that good-flowing, fast-moving metabolism is about.
In other words, contradictory "I want it but .. I want it but .. I want it but ..." is a body that isn't functioning in the way you really want it to be. But when you've lined up and lined up and lined up and lined up, now the behavior that you're inspired to won't be behavior of deprivation, it will be different behavior because the stream is flowing in a more powerful, less resistant way.

*Coming Into Alignment With Food!*

Abraham: There is an easier way to come into alignment, and it’s by bringing yourself mentally into the expectation that your body is your friend and that it knows what to do. And that you are a veritable factory, a chemical factory who knows what to do with whatever you are consuming. And that your body and its metabolic quality will bring you into vibrational balance if your thoughts don’t make it impossible to do so.
We’re surprised any of you can find anything to eat! Because there is something that is seen as wrong or inappropriate with almost everything that you eat! And you know the most significant thing is:
It is really rare to see someone HAPPILY EATING. Almost everyone is experiencing some sort of trauma during the process of eating. It’s either not nutritious enough or it has too much of this or not enough of that… And so you have, without meaning to, become a people who terrorize yourself over food! Eating or when you’re thinking about eating, or when you are choosing where you will eat, the time where you are choosing what you are eating and the time that you are actually eating it, are the least aligned times that we see among most who are in mass consciousness. And it doesn’t have to be that way...
It could be: all of these chefs, all of these people and aspiring chefs, preparing delicious foods for you to surprise and delight you. Little do they realize that they are preparing their beautiful food for the traumatized. [Audience laughs]
Before you put yourself before the banquets where you’ll eat tonight, do your Vibrational Warm-up. Spend at least as much time as you’ll spend in the eating of the meal, and by that we mean, you’ll actually have a less than 15 minutes all added together where you are actually putting something in your mouth, chewing it and swallowing it. In other words it’s not a very long period of time even if you linger over a longer mealtime, usually.
Spend the 15 minutes of coming into alignment about food, before you put yourself in the place where you are actually eating the food, and if you would do that consistently for about 30 days, try it and begin to watch what happens.
This is the sort of self-dialogue that we would have about it:
"Tonight I am going to be in an environment where I will have many wonderful choices relative to food and I want to know that whatever I choose my body will be just fine about.
"I like understanding that I have a body of trillions of cells who are all experts at knowing their work in my body and I am so pleased that I don’t have to have a board meeting where I instruct each one of them what they need to do while I slumber or while I walk, in other words, I’m happy that my body knows what to do.
"And I am consciously aware that my intelligent body is maintaining and doing a good job of keeping me, in terms of physicality, where I want to be.
"So tonight I know that I’m going to be in an environment where I will have a lot of choices and I am looking forward to feeling the ease of the choices that are before me, understanding that there are no really wrong choices for me to make. That I have this resilient body, a body that understands everything about the content of the food that I’m going to be eating, that understands everything about converting the food that I’m going to be eating in to the energy that I call my physicality.
"And it is pleasing to me to know that this is not something that I need to have concern about. I’ve got a body that knows what to do when I let it do it. So tonight I’m going to be aware and maybe diff than I’ve been at other times that I’ve been eating. Each time that I feel myself tensing a little bit over a choice that I might be making, I’m going to just relax and say to myself “there are no wrong choices here. There are no bad choices here. Everything that is possible here is within the comfort zone of my body in knowing what to do.”
"I know that as I’ve been living life, I have created a picture of the way I want to be, most important of the way I want to feel, most important of the vitality I want to live, also important the way I look, the way I move, the way my body continues to be, the way I feel in my clothes. All of this I’ve been putting into Vibrational Escrow and I feel confident that I’ve painted a picture that is complete and as I want it to be and I feel confident that my cells of my body, who are vibrational transmitting and receiving mechanisms, are fully aware of that image and are utterly compliant with it.
"So if I can resist my normal temptation to “freak out” over food, and instead I can replace that with an attitude of relaxing and confidence in my body’s ability to manage and know what to do, then this will be, it is my plan for this evening, the most delightful and delicious meal of my life experience.
"I like taking myself out of the management of the cells of my body, which I’ve never had any control over. I don’t understand metabolism, I don’t know what they do I don’t understand the chemistry of my body, I’ve read all of those books and all of them are wrong, I don’t know about that, but my body knows and I trust my body.
"So these things I do know. I know that I have created a Vibrational Escrow and I know that I have a body that I can trust and I know that I’m going to bes itting before a delectable banquet and all things are going to be offered to me, and I know that all is well, relative to me and food. "
And if you would spend that much conversation with yourselves 2-3 times a day before your meals, you would bring yourself into alignment with your food. And you will become one of those that people will watch you and say “How in the world do you manage to live in a world of imbibing and consuming and maintaining,” and you say “Because I’ve turned it over to the aspects of my body that know what to do. I have gotten out of the way. I’m no longer trying to do things that I don’t understand and in the process messing up the energy balance or alignment of my being."
You see, it’s not big thought that create big things or big problems. It’s the day to day thoughts that you think.

Healing
Healing would be instantaneous within any body whose thinker could deactivate the thought of resistance. You could have been assigned the label of every deadly disease known to man, and if you didn’t know it and you were basking in the beauty of something in your now, and were doing it consistently over a period of less than 30 days-those diseases could no longer linger in your body, because the vibrational resistance that was the reason for them would be gone.

The Body Knows What To Do
It is natural for my body to be well. Even if I don’t know what to do in order to get better, my body does. I have trillions of cells with individual Consciousness, and they know how to achieve their individual balance. If I had known then what I know now, this condition couldn’t have gotten started. It doesn’t matter that it got started, because it’s reversing its course right now. It’s natural that it would take some time for my body to begin to align to my improved thoughts of Well- Being. There’s no hurry about any of this. My body knows what to do. Well-Being is natural to me. My Inner Being is intricately aware of my physical body. My cells are asking for what they need in order to thrive, and Source Energy is answering those requests. I’m in very good hands. I will relax now, to allow communication between my body and my Source. My only work is to relax and breathe. I can do that. I can do that easily.

The Physical Body Responds to Your Vibration the Quickest (From Money and the Law of Attraction p 100-101)
If you are not feeling good or looking the way you want to look, it has a way of reflecting out into all other aspects of your life experience, and it is for that reason that we want to emphasize the value in bringing your physical body into balance and comfort and well-being. There is nothing in the Universe that responds faster to your thoughts than your own physical body, and so aligned thoughts bring a quick response and obvious results.
Our Bodies Have Innate Intelligence
Aren't you just thrilled that there are billions of beings of intelligence within you? Cells that each know what's best for them? And as they find what's best for them, it is ultimately what's best for you--unless you're focused upon something unwanted and using that as your excuse to block the flow. They are asking, Non-Physical is answering. Are you in the way or are you letting it flow? That's what this "Letting go and letting God" is all about. It's about relaxing and no longer hindering the communication between the individual askers. Every particle gets to individually decide. And as every particle asks, it is answered--and the Whole continues to thrive.

What is the Perfect Food?
What is the perfect food? We would say there isn’t one, other than water. We encourage lots of that for all of you. Drink as much water as you can get into your body, and then eat anything else that feels good to you.
We would, for a little while, step away from the subject of food altogether in terms of trying to make anything happen. And we’d get as happy as we can relative to other aspects of our life, until we could feel that our cork is floating mostly about most things. And then we would say, “I’m going to befriend my body. I’m going to become a friend with my body. I’m going to make my body my friend.” That is so essential: making your body your friend.
Most of you are afraid of your body. Your body feels like something that might trick you. It might get run over, or it might make the wrong decision, or it might die too early, or it might get a disease in it, or it might do something, after all, it has all kinds of mysteries. You can’t look into your body. You can’t see metabolism. You can’t see what’s happening with the cells. You don’t really understand your body. And your body frightens you in most cases.
We would like to help you to know that your body is oh, so well meaning. Your body is so well orchestrated. You see, your body is trillions of cells that are vibrationally interacting with Source Energy. And if left to their own without a lot of static in your vibration, your body would only thrive. In other words, the basis of your body is one of true and utter thriving. It has no reason to frighten you. It is the greatest evidence of Well-being that exists anywhere in your physical experience. It is an extraordinary mechanism that’s come together from great deliberate intent from so many Non-Physical and physical creators. And every one of you who stands in your body, continues to enhance the experience of the physical body. This is an evolution of a species that is extraordinary.
Your bodies are not to be feared. Your bodies are to be revered. Your bodies are to be applauded. Your bodies are to be maybe even amazed at. But they are never to be feared. Your bodies are not vulnerable. They’re not fragile. They are resilient. They are flexible. You have the ability to come into alignment again and again and again, and if anyone in the Universe understands that, it’s the cells of your body.It’s the most significant information that we have ever expressed relative to your physical body and food. You must love your body, and then lovingly give it the food. And when you love your body and lovingly give it the food, it matters not what food you give it. We would encourage you to look for your value everywhere that you can. Look for reasons to adore you. And what will happen is, every time you think a thought that is in harmony with that which your Inner Being knows to be, you will feel good. By paying attention to the way that you feel, you will begin to notice that when you are thinking thoughts that are praising yourself , you feel good, and when you are thinking thoughts that are diminishing yourself, you feel bad!!
When you are thinking in terms of "I CAN, I CAN, I CAN," you will feel good. When you are thinking in terms of "I can't", you will feel bad.
This is an individual process whereby you as an individual decide that you want to feel good about you. Now we can do a very good sales job, we can attempt to convince you why that is a good thing. When you feel good about YOU, you are vibrating positive energy! When you vibrate positive energy you are positively attracting.
If you are wanting all of those things to come to you which include, the mate you have been wanting, the money you have been wanting, the work that is more satisfying and more fulfilling, the new house that you are wanting, the car that you are wanting, all of those things of a physical or non-physical nature that you have been wanting, the re-claiming of your perfect bodily health that you are wanting, if you are wanting ANY of those things that you are identifying as your desire, to come into your experience, it is absolutely IMPERATIVE that you come to a place of positive vibration."

Take your Inner Being everywhere you go. If you take your Inner Being to the party, it's going to be a good party! If you take your Inner Being, the food that you eat will be received perfectly by the cells of your body. "It was requested in another thread that I share my success story on weight loss.
My whole life I have had body image issues, and struggled with eating disorders. I have yoyo'd up and down, but always more up and midway, never all the way down from College on.
I also always carried much of my weight in my tummy and spent my whole life covering it up. I can remember being 15 and wishing someone would take it away.. (and I was NOT over weight by then, just built that way) Time and three kids later, my weight kept getting worse and that troubled stomach.. did NOT respond well to c-sec and three kids. I became very withdrawn b/c of it and always avoided social activities in groups especially in the summer b/c i was so embarrased by my tummy. I WISHED and WISHED that would go away and tried every diet in the world. Long about my mid thirties I started saying "This belly will be gone when I am 40" well, on my 40th birthday, I magically recieved the exact amount of money it would take to have a tummy tuck.
NOW, don't go getting all discouraged if the weight loss is your issue and don't see plastic surgery as your answer because I had plenty of weight to lose. While I was waiting for my surgery dated, the doctor had told me, that while I was not too overweight to perform the sugery, if I would lose a little more weight prior to it it would be better. I had about 6 weeks... well, I gained two pounds! LOL...
At any rate, during that period, I was so afraid of the surgery, I began pulling out all of my old LOA books and began seeing myself safe and having a great result with the sx itself. I also began visualizing what it would be like to have a flat stretchmark free stomach.. and the feelings from that were so wonderful they carried me.. I got through the surgery and all is well.. BUT, when I went into sx, I was (185 lbs and size 16 jeans.) After the surgery, about 6 lbs were gone from the tummy removal.. so as you can see.. while it took care of the blob I hated, it was not a magic bullet, I still had thighs and arms and back fat to contend with...but still a 14 So as i lie in the bed recovering, I thought no way, did I go through all of this to still be not happy with my body. I continued to see myself with the flat stomach, but was also seeing myself thin.. I never put a specific number on what I needed to be, because I didn't really KNOW what that number was.. but I would see myself every day being able to go shopping and ENJOY trying on clothes instead of crying in the dressing room everytime, I felt what it felt like to be able to wear current trends of clothes and look good in them. The other thing I stopped... DIETING. .. I just stopped!
So how did the weight come off? I ate anything I wanted.. however, something "magically" began to happen. The binge eating, never satiated person I had always been, began to never be hungry, I'd look at the clock and realize I had not reached for anything to snack on all day, I'd fix supper and be full before my plate was done. It really was a strange thing considering how my eating habits had always been. .. Now, there would be a weekend from time to time that I'd over do, and when that would happen, I did make a conscious effort to not eat too much the next two days or so so that I wouldn't slip back into the overeating phase, but that would slip me back into that way of eating without thinking about it... and I really think the less I was thinking about food, the less food became an issue.. the more it worked the more I continued with the affirmations "I am my perfect weight, food is my friend, I love my body, "I LOVE my new clothes" and so on..
so today.. two years later, I am 148 and a 6/8. at just under 5'8"
Exercise.. didn't come into it at all until about 3 mos ago when I discovered pilates, and I do that a few times a week at home and it is toning me up, but I didn't go over board on the exercise at all.
NOW.. another fun little story about LOA working in this context.. I was at a dinner party a couple of months ago, and someone commented on how good I looked saying they didn't think I needed to lose anymore weight.. I said, thank you, i'm happy where I am..but there was a girl standing in front of us in a pair of white jeans with flap pockets... I said to my friend..but my goal, is for one time in my life walk in a store and be able to slip on a pair of size 4 jeans...as a matter of fact, I'd like a pair of white ones like those... She argued a 4 was too small for someone my height, I said..oh I don't want to stay that way, would just like to experience it once just to say I did it, have never been that small.
So the next day I go out shopping in search of some white jeans.. I go to tjmaxx and go through the 6s and 8's and pull every pair they have out and take to the dressing room.. a few worked and I found a pair that was perfect and bought them and took them home.. I pulled them out of the bag and... would you believe the tags said.. SIZE 4~! ahahhaha... now, I really don't see how they could be a true four.. but point is, I said I wanted that, I said I'd do it, and the very next day i have a pair of white, flap pocket jeans in my closet that fit that say 4~!"

Had to add this one about money!
If you believe that you must work hard in order to deserve the money that comes to you, then money cannot come to you unless you do work hard. Financial success, or any other kind of success, does not require hard work. It does require alignment of thought. You simply cannot offer negative thought about things that you desire and then make up for it with action or hard work. When you learn to direct your own thoughts, you will discover the true leverage of Energy alignment. --- Abraham

….if you were to stay on a pitch of excitement it would wear you out, and so many of you vacillate back and forth from positive and negative because you don’t want to be worn out.
But we say you can vacillate in your range of positive energy from ecstasy to peacefulness, from exhilaration to joy, from out of your mind outrageous orgasmic enthusiasm for life, to subtle appreciation of life.
But you never have to fall onto the negative side of the equation in order to find that balance you see. You can find perfect balance all within the positive range of things.
