Between the Olympics, the lightning, and work,...

I haven't been online alot. **YAY** to USA Men's beach Volleyball who put away Brazil Thursday night! *Ole, Ole, Ole, Oleeee* I had to behave for that game because I was at work. (That is no small feat, beating Brazil in volleyball...have you seen their fans?)

But when I was home watching the US Men defeat defeat Argentina in basketball yesterday -- it's just lucky I have thick walls because the volume of the tv and the volume of Sandy, it's like the NBA Finals around here.

Fell asleep yesterday after the Basketball game, and a big craaack of lightning woke me up. The tv was hissing and crackling with loud static, the computer was resetting itself, and thunder was right on the lightning's heels. Lawd! Felt like it was right on top of the house. I scampered around and unplugged the ("surge protected") TV's and the computer, and went to bed. But the power would interupt again, and one neighborhood in my area got nearly 5 inches of rain in 2 hours.., the weather's been just flat loco. Still "rain bands" from the tail of Fay impacting us.

Went to reiki last night, which was lovely as well. Lately it's so wet out, it's just easier to wear the crocs without socks around. The rain water can just flow right through! My Aussie pal that's been gone for months is back in town, I gave her reiki and the heat came on full force, my scalp was sweating and all. We're going to put together some more table reiki exchanges.

However. She already asked me about the latest network marketing thing she is doing; oh lawd *sigh*. I am being polite when I say "Hon, I'm just not into business opportunity meetings" or "I'm not a fan of network marketing companies". I just don't like feeling like a prospect and I certainly don't enjoy making any of my acquaintances and friends feel like prospects either! And do they teach these people to then go for the hard sell even harder? "Well do you go shopping? Do you use a computer? Do you buy paper, ink, do you buy cleaners for your house?" *sandy grits teeth* I was in a really good place, feeling loving, so I didn't hang around and socialize for long. I got what I went there for ♥

Anyway, it's all good. USA Women's basketball is playing Australia for the gold right now; later today, USA Women's Volleyball goes for gold against Brazil. I actually am glad the Olympics is winding up, because this is a *bit* more TV than I usually like to watch! :) I suppose I could just let the DVR watch for me. Maybe actually get outside today before it rains again. (p.s. the lake in the middle of the state - Lake Okeechobee - is at it's highest levels in years so most of us are grateful for all the rain!)

The crème de' le' crème game, tomorrow: US Men's Basketball v. Spain, for the gold. Ole, ole, ole oleeee ....

gratitude, friends, olympics, reiki
