I went to a community recently that was very large and established, figuring it would be a very open minded and liberal place to discuss things.
The first question I read was posed by someone having visions of fields of energy and lights. The first response on the community was from the maintainer asking the poster if they had been using [illegal] drugs.
That seemed to me, to be, kinda judgmental. Kinda ... jumping to conclusions just a bit. I guess she wanted to rule out drug use first, before she would share what she really thought it might be. Then, she wanted to talk to the person in private email, rather than post her thoughts on the subject. Was she afraid of ridicule? What is the purpose of a community if not to share our thoughts and learn from one another?
Anyway...
If someone has a wild traveling or out of body experience at the behest of drugs, isn't it still a valid experience for them? I don't personally use drugs like that, but it seems some people do. Maybe it helps certain individuals 'let go' and experience things they wouldn't otherwise.
My next experience in the same community was sharing an email I'd been sent,.. I dunno why, it's just that Spirit moved me to share it, perhaps someone would get some use out of it.
The same maintainer told me to lj-cut the 'adervtisement' or have it removed by her, advertising is not allowed.
At this point I just wanted to tell her to stop trying to direct Spirit and flow with it, dammit. (But I didn't) I lj-cut it, and then deleted it in a day or two, figuring it had served it purpose (whatever that was).
There's a new book out that bears a title that grabbed my attention. Probably because I am working at not being a control freak LOL.
The title is, When I Stopped Directing Traffic, The Lights Turned Green.
