Completely Moved In-- finally.

Mar 03, 2011 11:33

So I'm now going to write an LJ entry into my email in the evening sometimes when I am more lucid and post it in the morning. Am having a little trouble adjusting to the 2-3am bedtime, when I wake at 8-9am, and then want a nap before going to work at 2pm. There doesn't seem to be enough time to be a real slacker and do all my intended tweeting, blipping and facebook schmoozing and do anything else, like - laundry, personal grooming or shopping. < / sarcasm >

Ok so I finally got everything out of the car except for the beach chair, which of course is supposed to stay in the car. I can see the floorboards of my car again. I bought one of those grocery/laundry personal carts with wheels on it like we used to use for those miami beach condo highrises. I dont know if they look weird or out of style to use in SoCal but .. I dont care. I made for a lot fewer trips moving my stuff in.

So this apartment is.. good for doing lots of short walks. Street parking is at a premium so once you find a parking spot, you dont want to give it up. Grocery store and drug store are a block away - more short walks, and only carry back as much as you can in your arms (or take the cart, like a Miami Beach oldster). Lots of stairs, this is definitely not an apt building for physically challenged people. (ie. I was looking for the elevators in order to schlep my clothes to the laundry but .. didnt see any) My arse is going to get exercise even if I don't go to the 'fitness center'. (this is a good thing)

I'm gonna give the cable install a big thumbs down. I really hate it when you look on the guide to see "Cheers" is on, or something else, and then you hit the channel and it says "You dont subscribe to this channel. Call Time Warner to subscribe". That happened when I tried to find Dr. Oz show also. *fume* 200 channels of "You don't subscribe to that channel" I don't seem to get the normal ones like A&E, TBS, TNT, AMC and USA. (which might actually be a good thing. I just don't want to pay for cable if I'm only watching like 2 hours a week) As far as I know, I get Travel (for sure), CNN and the local channels that go on and on for days about the celeb news, which I really couldn't give two whiffs about that dumbass Charlie Sheen or that Cristina Aguillera was arrested for public drunkeness. And ya know, here, they break in on programs to report such stuff like it was a bulletin from the White House or something. LOL .. But that's La La Land...

And now I need to go move my car before the pre-streetsweeper tickets are issued. Do I sound irritable? I guess I do. Also making mention that sales tax is 9.75 % here .. jeeez. I took a picture of my Target receipt because I was spazzing about $15 in sales tax.

I'll have to come back and do a happy happy entry. :) Which I am. Just,... adjusting.
