Well, recently I went on a really cool LA adventure and I'd like to share it here as well!
(plus, I think it's funny that I do have a job once again and I'm actually posting something! XD )
But yes, let me tell you how it was~
THURSDAY
Basically, I woke up very late, like at 2:45 pm. or something and I really didn't feel like going to school. Plus, I didn't have the gifts I wanted to get for the guests. So, I emailed my teacher telling her I was busy getting ready for my trip and I wasn't fully packed up yet (I actually really wasn't). So, went to Micheals, bought bears for Maki and Asuka (the Angelic Pretty designers) and got glitter, ribbons, rose petals, and things to wrap the gifts up in. I had some 'Make your own' Ornaments at home, so I decided thatt that would be a good present for both sets of guests as well. So, Sachi and Yuka (Kyouku Syoku Sumire) got presents as well! I finally got to use Armour Etch for the first time! I took some craft foam stickers, put them on the glass ornaments, brushed the Armour Etch on, let them sit for a bit, washed them, and I saw such a cool result! Armour Etch does that effect where the glass becomes all rough looking, however, it is still smooth to the touch. So with that, I filled them with star shaped confetti glitter, iridescent glitter, and fake rose petals. I made four~ Then I replaced the boring red ribbon around the bears necks to fit each person (blue and pink ribbons for Maki and Black and White ribbons for Asuka). So, after the presents were done, I think I ate dinner, took a shower and went to bed at a decent hour XD
FRIDAY
So, woke up early to figure out a good situation for my day. I had to pick up Victoria around 12:30pm. and I needed to hit the bank. I called up Chrystal and told her my plan to actually drive to andy's, instead of them having to pick me up, because my car wasn't going to the shop after all (my car's been acting up a lot lately =_=;; ). So, did all that, went to Andy's and found out we had a situation....We had too much luggage and our rental car...was a PT cruiser. That was quite a challenge....Luckily Andy's mom helped out a lot in telling us to get rid of the crap we knew we'd really not need and we played Tetris a bit and finally everything fit! XD Geez, it was a challenge. Then, Victoria and I had to make a Walgreens run for Chrystal, because she forgot her photos to make thankyou cards with. We got back and were finally on our way. We also had to make a stop at this Chocolate Surprise place, because it was a part of Chrystal's gifts for the guests. Then, we were defiantely on our way XD WE made a pit stop in Quartsite for dinner, which was really fun, because we went to a place called Big Al's. Now, they had a picture of some Italian chef with a pizza, but inside was like a totally cowboy interior. There was a bar, pool table, mini dance floor, a stage for karaoke, and just general seating. now, I'm used to this, however, Victoria, Chrystal, and Andy were complete 'city folk' and looked at the place with total "what the hell is this?" XD The pizza was good and since there was karaoke going on, I was thinking about doing it myself. Well, I wound up singing Pat Benetar's 'Love is a Battlefield', but very embarassed, because I didn't know the song to well, plus I felt uneasy due to the crowd of older folks who sang mostly country. Chrystal recorded me on my camera, but I heard myself and deleted all of it, because I sounded squeaky and aweful....I was embarassed to no end...thankfully I'll never see them again, or at least hope not too D:
We finally arrived to the Miyako in LA (Little Tokyo) at 2 something in the morning, however, we forgot about the time difference and it was actually 1 something in the morning! XD The Hotel had a super fancy toilet and fluffy blankets~ I liked it a lot, but everyone else was saying they didn't. ah well.
SATURDAY
We got up, got ready and left the Miyako for the Kyoto Grand. We had to wait for our hotel room because the people previously in it were still there and they had to clean up the room, granted, we were there ealry like 10 or so. We got our wrist bands and then decided that it was lunch time. Since it was early, not many places were open. We had went to the Kinokuniya bookstore and Chrystal bought a Deco Alice magazine, it was really cute. Victoria went to the Marukai market for food, but Chrystal, Andy, and I went to a Korean BBQ place, because they didn't want to go to Kouraku like I did (THEY HAVE THE BEST BEEF CURRY!!!!). After lunch, we headed back to the hotel. I sat with Victoria in the line for the boutique, while Chrystal and Andy went to go check on the status for the room. The boutique was awesome! So many cute things~ I was surprised that there was so much stuff even after the VIP members raided it first. I was lucky to get the last bangle bracelet for Amiko (I won at Jan Ken Pon for it!!) They did have a Wonder Party head dress like she wanted, but it was black and pink, but she wanted the plain pink one. We had no idea that Sachi and Yuka were in the boutique selling things, so Chrystal and I were fangirl panicing XD I bought thier little pins in the shape of their faces and I got a photoset of theirs as well. At one point, my friend (I call her Miwako, because of her cosplay from PMX last year) came out wearing the blue Wonder Party OP and she just looked absolutely precious and the whole room pretty much gasped at how adorable she looked in it XD It was like it was made for her, that made me happy ^^ After the boutique we finally got the room and we put our stuff away. I had the presents for the guests and wondered if I could give it to them, since they were all there. So, I went back down to the boutique. I thought they were going to stop me, but I stood there for a good minute and no one told me no, so I went in and gave Sachi and Yuka they're presents (they said the ornaments were beautiful, so that made me very happy XD ) and apparently Asuka wasn't there at the moment, but Maki was, so I handed Maki her bag and Asuka's bag as well and told her Happy Birthday~ This seemed to brighten her day, so that made me happy too XD I also bought the black and pink Kyouku Syoku SumireXAngelic Pretty promo shirt while I was there. That was fun XD Went back up to the room, told Victoria and Chrystal about it, and they headed back down to the boutique too, because this time it wasn't crowded and they wanted to get pictures with the designers. I didn't want pictures or anything, plus I felt if I popped up again, it'd seem rude, so I waited outside for them. There was one lady who I believe was a translator and she liked my outfit, but I liked her shirt and shoes, so we got into a conversation. Her name is Masayo and she likes lolita, but she doesn't think she could pull it off. I think she'd be adorable in it, personally XD Anywho, Chrystal got her photo, but wasn't happy with it, neither was Victoria, but then again, there wasn't all that much room in the boutique for pictures to be honest. Chrystal was wondering if it were possible to get photos with Sumire, but wasn't sure. Since Masayo was a part of staff, she talked to Sumire and Sachi came from the table and took a picture with us! (Yuka was out doing something). That was really cool and we thanked Masayo for being awesome. Since it was late, we decided it was time for dinner. The didn't want to go far from the hotel so we went to Little Tokyo's plaza, Chrystal wanted to search for a bento, I got reeled into a clothes store and bought an interesting, yet really good jacket, Victoria decided to head back to the room and eat the bento she bought, and Chrystal, Andy, and I went and ate at 'Joy Mart'. Afterwards, we went to PopKillers, because I wanted to get a thankyou gift for Masayo. Andy went to Yogurtland while Chrystal and I poked around. We also ran into some more lolitas in the store. Went back to the hotel, took a shower, and then C, A, and V wanted to see the Japanese garden. We went down to the level, me being a dummy had to go back up and get my camera, and then I took pictures. Some came out blurry thanks to it being night and all....I didn't know that the hotel had a Teppenyaki table! But the others said it was to pricey, so we didn't get to eat there...
We went back to the hotel room and Chrystal and Victoria began working on their final touches to their gifts. I wanted to sleep, so I did. However, I kept waking up, feeling like it was time to get up, but I guess it was because of all the noise. The people staying next to us for some reason were being very loud and started playing with our door handle and were acting up for no reason. We called the front desk, but not sure if they really did anything...Finally I fell asleep for good.
SUNDAY
I woke up to Andy's phone, then mine went off. Since Andy had to take a shower, I slept for thirty minutes more. Then I got ready. Chrystal and Victoria got ready, and while I waited for them to get ready, I made a little Maid head band with white lace, red rick rack, a little red felt heart, a minty blue ribbon, all glued down with tacky glue XD ghetto fabulous~ I finished it when they were done getting ready. We went down to wait in line for the concert. I hunted down Masayo to give her her present and finally found her and gave it to her (I got her a hat and gave her the maid headband. Chrystal had bought her a little flower hairpin too~). While waiting, I got to meet some very cool people! Tall Erin, Erin with pigtails, Clou, and Abby. Sans Abby, I sat at a table with The Erins and Clou. We were the little 'goth' table XD We talked about Dragonforce, sewing, playing muscial instruments, wondered if the rumor of Tim Burton showing up would be true or not, and our dislike for wearing pink XD When the concert started, we all sat at a table together, including Chrystal, Victoria, and Abby. We were in the middle back, so we were honoring our 'goth table' tradition XD The concert was AWESOME. Yuka's voice is beautiful and Sachi is an awesome violinist. I felt really compelled to dance, so I did XD For one of the last songs Victoria danced with me! I was happy because no one else would =.=;; After the concert, they had the fashion show! The fashion show was fun, because the outfits were adorable~ sparkly dresses and winter bunny outfits! THE BACK BOWS HAD BUNNY TAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *fangirl spasms* When the fashion show ended, there was a break for lunch. Tall Erin and I decided to go to lunch together, while everyone did their own thing. I wanted to go to Kouraku, but it was so busy inside, so we headed on over to the plaza again where we ate at Joy Mart, because it wasn't to busy inside and Erin could eat there (She may have been vegetarian, I don't remember =w=;; ). We went back to the hotel kind of late, but I figured I had time, because I needed to change into my cream colored vampire outfit. I got there kinda late and the food wass on the tables already. When I got to the table, they were all like, "Speaking of vampires!" and I was all, "HUH?!" Apparently I had missed a little performance that some girls had put on just a few minutes before. I wasn't to down about it, becuase in front of me was the most marvelous plate of sweets EVER. There was a fruit tart, a mini cake with rasberry filling, a blueberry macaroon, a sugar cookie frosted witht the signature AP poodle in the shape of a heart, and there was also something else, but I can't remember. Plus, tea! XD Oh goodness, the sweets weere so good! I just wish I wasn't full from lunch, I could've eaten them all! Everyone was complaining about getting diabetes, but in my opinion, the sweets were just sweet enough and they were amazing~ I felt so wasteful when I couldn't eat the cake and cookie and the lady took my plate. I didn't know they were giving out to go boxes either! That made me sad because I totally would've saved my cake and cookie! Oh well...I got to talk to Sachi and Yuka during the tea party, because they had their own little table. I wasn't allowed to take their picture there sadly, but was told about the Gachapon deal of getting three of the gachas and getting a photo with them (they gave you a little violet as proof of purchase~). We (the goths) commented on how lovely their performance was~ it was so otherwordly, to be honest XD during the tea party we got a table group picture with the designers (Maki and Asuka also thanked me for the presents, which totally blew me away, because they recognized me! So I felt really honored and just...wow XD ) and we got interviewed by this one lady from a newspaper I believe~ As we left the tea party (dismissed by tables), Sachi and Yuka played some music and walked around. It was cool~ We also got the group pictures for free and a little extra goodies as we left! I got the pink cup cakes bento tote, and some people got the same in magenta, yellow, or white, or some other colors, and then there was a piano shaped mouse pad too! After the excitement I did the Gachapon thing and got the flower (I also got the super cool extras like the AP phone strap, the Sumire phone strap, and the AP safety pin brooch, what luck, huh?), then headed over to the line for the boutique once again, to see what they had for sale (they said they'd have some new things from the fashion show). I looked around and didn't really see anything new, other than some beautiful black JSKs that weren't there the day before, which made me sad, because I didn't have a whole lot of money left. So, I only bought the picture with Maki and Asuka. That was a lot of fun. Then I got my picture with Sachi and Yuka. Victoria and Chrystal had gone up and gotten their presents for them and showed up when I was taking pictures with them. Chrystal had the flower as well and got pictures with them. She gave them her presents and they really liked them! It was cool ^^ Victoria was super nervous about giving her gifts to Maki and Asuka (she didn't get any for Sumire, cuz she doesn't know them all that well musically), so I had to be there like motivational support XD Chrystal retook her picture with Maki and Asuka and when Victoria took hers, she gave them her gifts, it was cute, their reaction ^^ Afterwards I kinda waited for the both of them, because Chrystal still wasn't satisfied with her picture XD I actually looked at an all white half bonnet and tried it on with the blonde wig I was wearing. My vampy outfit looked funky with it, but the wig looked really good with it, so I caved and bought it. I also bought Kyouku's CD at the marked down price and they autographed it for me too! that was so cool of them~ so we left the boutique finally and went back to our room. I had changed into some regular-ish clothes and suggested we chill in the hotel room and order some food. We ordered pizza and hung out a bit. Chrystal had walked out for a bit and met up with Abby and Erin. Andy went out to go find her and Victoria slept in the room, while I ate more pizza XD I had to throw away the pizza box, but had managed to lock myself out of the room while Victoria was asleep. I knocked on the door a few times, but no answer. Then I sat there in the hall, texting to C and A that I was stuck. Some guy had come up to the room next door (these were different guys than the noisy ones from before), trying to see if his friends were there, but no one answered. I had seen the guys walk out of the room when I was tossing the box out, so I told him that they had gone downstairs. However, this guy didn't speak english, so I had to hand signal, '3 guys, from that room, went downstairs'. Apparently he got the general idea, said something in Japanese like, "I understand" and went towards the elevator. I finally decided to call Victoria and she finally opened the door for me XD After a while, chrystal texted me that Abby and Erin were going to go play paraparaparadise, so I was all over that idea XD Chrystal and andy went back to the room and I went with them to the mall. We had to take the back entrance, but even still, the arcade had closed an hour earlier, so we sat there for a while, talking about anime. We left the mall and went to Starbucks. Afterwards, we seperated ways and went back to our hotels. I got there, everyone was asleep, I took me shower, then I went to bed. Turning out the lights, however woke everyone up XD and they all got ready for bed better~
MONDAY
I woke up at the same time that Andy did so I could pack up and organize my things better while he occupied the bathroom. Afterwards I got all ready and Chrystal and Victoria got therir stuff together. We did our final room check and called for the guy with the luggage cart. I wanted to go play parparaparadise really badly and they needed to go hit the market anyhow, so I walked to the mall again. I had arrived earlier than I thought I would, so I poked around a little gift shop and bought phone charms for everyone~ then the arcade opened early and I got my dancey fix XD then it was 12:12pm and I decided it would be best to find them. They were at the market, so I headed towards that direction. Apparently I got there as they were done eating their lunch. Since Andy was still in the market, I decided to get a quick lunch too. Curry To Go was open and I really wanted curry, so I got that (still wasn't as good as Kouraku though....sigh...). Chrystal and Victoria went to Kinokuniya one last time and I ate my lunch. Andy told me about a toy in the market that was a One Piece and Dragon Ball Z cross over. I didn't see them when I went in, but then Andy bought one and brought it out. THEY WERE SO AWESOME. He got Goku in a pirate's coat! There was Luffy and Goku doing the fusion dance, luffy doing kamehameha, Vegeta with Zolo's swords, and a bunch of other random awesome ones! We then had to go and get the girls from the store, for it was getting late. Then we left, but got horribly confused on how to get to the freeway from the hotel, because the streets were weird and the signs sucked ==;;
Finally we were on the right road, but do to the confusion, we probably weren't going to hit Irvine, because of time constraint. Traffic was pissing Andy off too. I fell asleep because I wasn't feeling good, but the nap helped me greatly~ When I woke up, we were in Irvine! I was surprised because I thought we weren't gonna go. So, we got out, went to Yogurtland (which is actually really good!), then the little shop next door and took purikura, hopped in the car again and went to some place called Tea Junction (or something like that) where they use tea with everything. We also went to a little bakery, where we got some sweets to go~ Stopped by It's a Grind as well, and then finally headed for home.
We got stopped by a cop at one point for going to fast (like, maybe 80 or so, but he said we were doing 90) and got a ticket, but there really weren't a lot of speed limit signs anywhere. So, we had to slow down a bit, just be sure he wasn't tailing us. So, we finally got home late at night. I dropped Victoria off and used the 60 for the first time in...................................for the first time actually XD
So that was my little California adventure and I had lots of fun ^^
but next time, I'm definately gonna go to Kouraku no matter what! I WANT MY BEEF CURRY DAMMIT! XD
