Spend My Money
OK, ladies and gentlemen. It's time to outfit my new apartment.
I have no furniture. Well, I have one chair. And a nice new bed. (It's a low-profile, Asian-looking thing. Real wood. I need to get two low-profile nightstands, which I've found mail-order from West Elm, but would rather buy locally if possible.)
Most pressing, I need a sofa and a desk. I'll probably need to get a loveseat, as my apartment isn't that huge.
Has anyone seen any cool desks anywhere? Most suck, bad. I want something simple, that looks cool. And it doesn't need a keyboard tray, as I have my own to attach. It doesn't need computer trays, or a hutch, or any other shit they all seem to have. Just... a desk.
I'm having a terrible time finding a sofa. The ones I totally dig---modern, but not too wacky---are usually too expensive. And the cheap ones are cheap. I'm trying to avoid cheap furniture.
I'm probably going to go with a dark brown couch, with colored accents/pillows (etc). My walls are a sort of khaki color, with one green one. So I'm Mr. Earthtones. (One option I'd considered is a kind of rust-colored couch, though I wonder if I'd eventually get sick of that.)
So, anyone found any cool couches anywhere?
