She had a heart murmur that was a 4 out of 4. She also had an enlarged left atrium and sub-aortic stenosis. The murmer was so bad, close to the end, that I could hear it when she was near me. I didn't even need a stethescope. *Chzzzzzzzzz DUB Chzzzzzzzzz DUB* (as opposed to a normal *lub dub lub dub*) Then about a month ago she nearly died due to pulmonary edema ans CFH. I knew we were close to the end at that point. She never really recovered from the fluid build-up. She lost about 1/3 of her body weight too. She had a cough that wouldn't go away. Sometimes she'd cough up foamy blood which I knew was from the pulmonary edema. She acted completely normal some days and others I was having to give her breathing treatments with albuterol and a nebulizer. I know she was hanging on for me because she didn't wanna leave me alone. She never acted like she was in any sort of pain. Her vet said it might have been possible for her to live for two years like that. She just gave up I think. I don't really blame her. I'm sure she was just TIRED of fighting it. I was getting more sad seeing her that way too.

Sunday night she was not feeling well n I thought maybe she was dying then but she ate dinner and seemed to be feeling better after a breathing treatment. Then Mon morning Matt took Gabs to day camp n I was in bed still. Dduckie got up, threw up the ran into the hall, tried to poop (not like her at all cause she NEVER goes inside... EVER) then fell over and wouldn't get up. I called Matt and told him to hurry back home so he did and we took her to the ER. By the time we got there her tongue was purple and hanging out. She peep in their lobby while Matt was holding her too. Then they rushed her back to the OR and started doing CPR. I knew it wouldn't work though. When we were in the hall waiting for Matt to come home she told me that she felt like she needed to let go. I told her it was ok and that shewas a good girl and I loved her very much. I knew she wasn't coming back.
I should get her ashes back eventually though. :o\
