Dude!? You have to realize, our government did next to nothing to help these people. Yeah the choppers came, and people did shoot at them, but they came a little too late. The government,(state and federal) had the information and the time to get more people out before the storm hit. They knew it was a category 5 hurricane. Thats a mean motherfucker. Why could'nt they sent national guard in before to get the poor and disadvantaged out. The ones with no means of transportation. And on the state level, they've had meetings for years about the possibility of something like this happening, and when the topic of evacuating the people without means came up...crickets. No one had an answer. And no one had an answer for what would happen if a levey broke, let alone ALL OF THEM! And for the cherry on top, the Senate AND the Executive branch (Bush himself ), are putting together committees of themselves to look into "what went wrong". How can you investigate yourself, to see what you did wrong? I hope Bush is'nt too hard on himself. Fuck Bush, Fuck the looters, Fuck Katrina, and Fuck the government!! Everyone is to blame for what happened. The government left thousands to die. And pig-headedness made a lot of people stay. Now I'm not Michael Moore's biggest fan, but I feel he is right on. And I can understand the people who are ignoring athority. They were abandoned, and now that the whole country is pissed, the help is finally coming in. And I know that this is'nt a popular oppinion, but I don't think they should rebuild New Orleans. All the money that will go into clean-up, rebuilding, health care for the sick, and everything that goes along with a disaster of this magnitude, will be for nothing. The whole city is below sea level. To build a major city that is below sea level and is sandwiched between the Gulf and a huge lake is ridiculous. If they rebuild, in time the same thing will happen again. Lets just hope next time, the response will be a tad quicker. If you want a good source for what is going on, join the Doom Crew community that I'm a part of. There are some people who will let you know some shit. I've been talking to a guy who lives outside of New Orleans who has been posting first hand accounts of what is going on down there. Check it out! Later.
