Artworks

for the first time in a very long time, i'm painting traditionally with my dad - i'm stunningly out of practice, but since the watercolour is being rendered in my usual abusive line-heavy style, it's not so bad. I miss painting with my dad, it's some rare quality time we can spend together - increasingly rare these days, as my schedule and his parkinson's disease prevent us from meeting more regularly.

Using guarche is a lot more enjoyable than plain watercolour, as it panders to my tendency to use bold colours and effects, as well as mylove of grainy gradients. I'm working on an a3 painting of a Koi, done in traditional tattoo-art style - that style's become particularly appealing to me of late, probably due to my housemate's influence. only problem is that unless you subscribe to a paysite, tattoo designs are a bastard to find. does anyone know where i could find a steady (and free) source of references for this beautiful art form?

lots of love,
pixie
