I rode my bike to the beach. To see my mom. And even though it was November in my dream, it felt like 70 degrees. So I get there, to the Yacht Club and my mom's working there decorating, (only it looks like the Grand Floridian) and I ride my bike around and head out, never saying "hi." While I'm riding away (thinking "Oh God I left in my pajamas and didn't even bring my phone) my phone starts to vibe and I tell her I'm in town. So we go out to get myself some proper clothes and hang out all day, she gets me flowers and I talk to the man selling them. My brother shows up, but to ask for money (and I need money too, but say nothing) and my parents take us out to dinner. I'm too tired to ride my bike back to Brooklyn (ya think?) so I take the bus. MY parents drove me up to Atlantic City and I got on the bus and I remember noticing that my mom's eyes were green.
So once I get back to NYC, I'm in the queue for a cab with Greg, and the queue's full of students from my screenwriting class. One of those van taxis pulls up and I hop in, we wait for Greg, but he's still talking to Brian and Nate and Eric. So he pulls away and I tell him we had to wait for the guy I was with. And he says it's cool, he's going to come back around and Greg calls and I tell him this, then it turns out, one of the cabbie's buddies will pick him up. So I go back to the cabbie's place, which looks like a Real World house. He needs to take a shower, but his roommate's making dinner if I'm hungry.
Somehow I end up on a paddleboat in this recessed pool in the house, which would be okay, except there's also a polar bear living there. We leave each other alone for the most part, and one of the guys who lives there gets me out. Then he empties out a drawer (which I nearly spelled "droor") of kitchenware (not silverware I'm talking: wooden spoons, potato masher, whisk, etc.) and dumps it on the table while his two dogs (a two-headed dachsund and a beagle) separate them all out. Then his girlfriend (who was awesome and something about her made me want to be her, but I was not her), separated out her own drawer of thing and made awesome little waffles, with one side covered in dark chocolate.
The cabbie got out of the shower and ate with us, talking about the little designs on the waffles (no two were alike, and they all represented something but I now forget what), and told me not to worry, his friend just picked up my nephew. I explained we were the same age, in fact, he was older, and he said that just from our interaction he thought I was just his really awesome aunt. Greg arrived and asked "You feed my lady before I got here?" They grumbled in the affirmative, and we began to leave. As I walked out, I started running my hands through my hair and some strands got caught and came out (like they do), but these were big clumps: they started out hot pink and a little blonde, and once it was brunette, I stopped, and I know I stopped walking out of the house too, even though Greg and the cabbie were ahead of me.
Then I woke up. I love this dream, I haven't had one this good in ages. (It beats the shit out of yesterday's, too.)
