You know...

I just e-mailed this to Tom, but it's far too delicious to not share with everyone.

This is a long blog post by my favorite sports writer, Joe Posnanski, about infomercial items (like the Snuggie). In it, he tries to find another item that duplicates the "success" of the Snuggie. Hilarity ensues.

I must say as silly as the idea is, if I wanted to wear a robe I would wear a robe, but I want to wear a blanket with it pulled up to my chin with my arms under it....the problem is, I have little kitties who want to be petted all the time and then my arm gets cold cause its no longer in the blanket...I immeadiately thought cool, when I fist saw the commmercial, if the fabric is not a peice of shit, then hey I want one, I know Brian has ignored this, and says he loves me anyway, my sister has told me that she won't let the cult take me. I have been told that if you order one that your information gets sold and you will get spam and harrassed, but there is a way around that, buy one at target, problem solved. Though they are probably sold in boxes that you can't tell the quality of the fabric.

I'm lucky- when I'm under a blanket and my cats want petting, they burrow under the blankets with me. My younger one loves to burrow under the blankets to sleep next to me, and my older one will hide out in the blankets throughout the winter.

Even if my cats weren't burrowers, though, I don't think I'd get a Snuggie. I mean, besides the cult robe look, they just don't look like nice cuddly blankets. They look kind of lightweight, like throws or something.
