A Suite in Three Drabbles
I. Chair
The Doctor straightened - or tried to - when he heard Rose's gait. Finally! Except-
“A chair? I asked for solvent, not a chair!” Rose just raised an eyebrow.
“Couldn't find that, so I brought the next best thing. Will it last very long without solvent?”
“For me? 'Bout five hours.” He sat, alleviating some back pain, and sighed.
“...Do you want a sandwich? Tea?”
Gruffly, “Water. No caffeine, please.” He looked away but still heard her embarrassment.
“'Cause it might make you... Right. You don't need to- now, do you?”
“No.” He glared at the hand glued to the console.
II. Trap
“This is your fault.”
“MY fault? Who here tripped an obvious rope trap?”
“Who didn't tell me he was making a bloody rope trap?!” The Doctor heaved a disgusted sigh against her shoulder, and Rose aimed it right back, in glare form. “Why haven't you sonicked us down?”
“Can't reach it. Hands are stuck sort of... up.”
“Maybe I can.” She wriggled against him, trying to work past leather and rope, then pressed closer to his front to see around his head. The Doctor whimpered.
“Am I hurting you?”
“...Not hurting. Just hurry?” It took her five seconds to start blushing.
III. Lazy
“Rose?”
“Yeah?”
“It’s been a long week.” She hummed a lazy agreement. “Awkward, and nothing went quite right.”
“Oh, I wouldn’t say nothing.” The Doctor smiled against her hair as she did the same against his chest. “I can think of at least three things.”
“Five.”
“Hence me being sleepy.”
“Alright,” he said indulgently, “Rest. I’m just pointing out how sometimes even mishaps bring about good things.”
“Like when accidents and frustration make us realize shagging is a good idea?”
“Basically.”
“Mm. Well, true, but I’ll still complain the next time you miss the market three times in a row.”
