Okay, So it has been MONTHS...
I got a loving nudge from Steph to update my journal like a month ago, so here goes... (sorry for the delay Steph).
Let's see I have been sooooo busy. Coaching Indoor Track really robbed me of free time and sanity and sleep. But it all paid off the other night! The boys 4x200 team won the State Qualifier...1 boy placed 2nd in the 55mHH at state quals, and another placed 3rd in the 55m D. SO they are all going to the STATE meet March 4th! YEA! I am so proud of them!
Work has been great. Staying very busy though! 5 preps! So my schedule looks a little like this:
A/C Days:
Period 1 - Graphic Communications 2
Period 2 - Creative Woodworking 1
Period 3/4 - Architecture 2
Period 5 - Lunch
Period 6 - Planning
B/D Days:
Period 1: Project Lead the Way Digital Electronics
Period 2 - Planning
Period 3/4: Creative Woodworking 2
Period 5: Lunch
Period 6 - Planning
Keeping busy, but barely keeping sane.
Oh! I got appointed to Varsity Outdoor Track Assistant Coach! So about a week after Indoor ends Outdoor begins. I am not sure what I am doing yet, it appears that I am going to rotate. In indoor I specifically did Distance and Pole Vault. We have 4 outdoor Coaches, so I will be in a different area based on the specific workouts of the day. Kinda cool cuz now I don't have to specialize and I can do it all... (Distance, Sprints, Hurdles, Vaults, Throws, Jumps).
Speaking of Pole Vault I took a kid that had never vaulted and brought him to vaulting 10feet, not great by a state wide comparison, but for a freshman that has never even tried that is pretty awesome. He was even League champion!
We went and saw Brooks and Dunn at Turning Stone Casino a few weeks ago! AWESOME. I got some great pics, but I haven't put them on webshots yet. They were one of the best concerts that I have ever seen!
Speaking of the Casino they have this awesome place to eat.. the Season's Harvest Buffet. American, Mongolian, Breakfast, Seafood, Italian, Mexican, Sald Bar, and the BEST Desserts I have ever had! I've been there 3 times in less than a month! They'll make you stir fry or a quesadilla on the spot, you pick what you want in it. And they have other things like each person gets a dozen clams. I have heard that they have had that with crab legs too, but every time I have gone it has been clams. The food has been great all three times and they have different stuff. They also revamp their whole menu each season (or so I have been told).
Bill and Corrie got engaged. (or so I hear)
I am so glad to have this week off. Going to straighten up the apartment and reorganize and deep clean! and I am going to do my taxes.
Today was a nice day. Mike and I slept til 1130. Then we went to Cingular in New Hartford, then to the Salvation Army (a woman I know who works there hid a *brand new* brown leather COACH bag in the back for me, but she had left for the day when we got there), then to WalMart, then to Sears, then to Creever's Creatures, then to Napa, then to Advanced Auto, then to Burger King, then back to Napa, then home to relax.
I have to go back to Napa tomorrow to pick up the safety glasses that I ordered. I broke mine in half the other day at work. I was puttying something that was glued back together and all of a sudden my safety glasses are in 2 pieces on the workbench. They were my favorite pair so I had to go order another from Napa. I guess when I go back I will go see Debbie at the Salvation Army so I can get my COACH bag.
I had to get Bandit a new choke collar today. (hence the trip to Creevers). When Mike got up he walked back in the bedroom and asked where I put the pliers. He then explained that somehow Bandit had broken the end off his collar. This dog goes through more things. He chews his tags off and eats them, and wow he's 12.
I am taking an online class through SUNY Oswego right now. It is almost identical to the one that I drove up there to take in the fall. It has to do with multimedia and internet. Our current assignment is to find 10 websites that are legitimate resources and write a brief description of each. Not sure that I can handle that, lol.
I have gotten back in touch with a lot of people through myspace. That site is pretty addicting. I had to stop going on so much. I'd log on with the intention of checking messages and spend an hour looking up people or reading posts.
On the weekends, nothing new to report. We hit up DeMatteo's and hang out with some or all of the following: Matt, Adam, Gabe, Jared, Nadine, Aaron, Joey D., Dan, Joey C., Jenn, Ethan, Bill...
NASCAR has started again. My boy had a lot of problems at Daytona (Jeff Gordon). But my #2 boy won (Jimmie Johnson)!
Well I have typed about as much as I can think of at the moment.
Steph -- I promise to write more often!
