Yesterday I got into a sour mood early on and when a sour mood is triggered in me it usually just increases from there. I start to look at all my issues at once even if they're entirely unrelated

Dancing is what you're known for, Mangy. I'm sure this is no surprise to you, but because that's what you're known for, that's what people think about when they think of you. That's what people want to see you do when they see you. You're a performer, and it can be difficult for people to realize that there is more to a performer than what he or she performs.

The panels that you do at cons are a step in the right direction though, especially the one at FWA. By getting your name out there in such a way that is NOT related to dancing, you'll get more people interested in Mangusu the person rather than Mangusu the dancer.

As far as FPS, I'd say it's kind of expected. They're a show that caters to their viewers. They give the viewers whatever they want to see. So they're not going to bring on a popular fursuiter who is known for his dancing and then not ask him to dance. It'd be like bringing Lady Gaga on and not expecting her to sing. The show's viewers would be quite disappointed I imagine, in both cases.

And what can be intimidating to people is your fame, not necessarily you yourself. The first time I ran into Narse (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/narse) was at AC 09, and I was afraid to really say anything at all. I figured why would someone as popular as Narse want to talk to someone like me? After a while, we did end up becoming really good friends, but that first time I saw him, I basically said nothing at all to him, because I figured he'd have plenty of other much more interesting and popular people to talk to.

Which, again, is why it's important that you show yourself to be more than a dancer. Show people that you are a real human being, that really does want to meet new people, even if they don't have anything that they're known for.
