Not A Good Day To Drive
I just got home from a family dinner. I AM SO FULL.
Anyhoo, that's not my story. Guess what happened to me today?
For the first time EVER in my entire life - I GOT CAUGHT. TWICE. FOR PRETTY MUCH THE SAME DUMB REASON.
How strange is that?!
Anyway, I was on my way to school for a script reading, taking my usual EDSA route when I got caught crossing the stupid yellow BUS LINE. A couple of MMDA people stopped me, but only one approached. He was kind enough to just give me a short sermon on the stupid road rule that is practically NOT FOLLOWED by most motorists. So there, I easily got off the hook the first time.
The second time was a different story.
I was on my way back to Makati, going through the same EDSA route to Ayala so I can park at Glorietta. I knew all I had to do was go straight, and for some weird reason I kinda thought I might be doing something wrong, but still I foolishly went ahead to this particular lane. Apparently, the same sort of yellow line rule applied again, and I think that lane was for taxis and buses only. I didn't know I was being stopped by those MMDA people again, and I was getting irritated with this taxi that was just stationary in front of me. I started honking the horn when I realized I was caught YET AGAIN. I put down my window and realized the MMDA dude was kinda pissed (whether because of my honking, or my violation) and asked for my driver's license. I decided to stop the car somewhere beyond that point. I was afraid they completely confiscated my licence coz they weren't approaching me. I eventually stepped off my car to go to the dude. He was walking my way, and told me to get back in car. I did as I was told, and started to get ready for my "drama act". *snicker*
Now, I wasn't planning to get myself a stupid ticket for some stupid violation, so I decided to use the very tactic my best friend would use on cops. CRY. Don't get me wrong, I didn't really make myself look like an idiot to the guy, but I just made him feel sympathetic towards my situation. So there I was pouring my heart out, desperately pretending that I would die if I got that ticket with a 500php fine. I made up all these excuses, and in the end, I GOT OFF THE HOOK! FOR THE SECOND TIME! WOW! I never thought my acting skills would actually come in handy. I felt really evil right after because I fooled such a nice MMDA person. He was telling me to stop crying (my fake and sometimes non-existent tears haha) because it could affect my driving. Heehee. He asked me again, and made sure it was my FIRST VIOLATION. I said yeah coz technically it was the first ticket I ALMOST got, but of course I didn't tell him I got caught earlier that same day. So he just LET ME GO. What a TREAT! Heehee! ;p
Now that was my driving adventure for the day. I seriously thought some kind of karma got to me. I'm just praying it won't happen to me again coz all that drama can get pretty stressful and tiring. Although it's a funny experience I won't forget.
Lesson of the story: You have to be cute to get rid of the MMDA. Hahaha! Just kidding! Follow the stupid rules, and drive safely! If all else fails, CRY!!! Mwahahahahahahaha!! EVIL. >;p
