I need to get off this late night schedule

politics: n (Greek: πολιτικσ) - many bloodsuckers

Gustav seems to not be nearly as vicious as was originally expected. Thank goodness for that.

I want to bake cookies.

Pandora has enjoyed eating the computer today. We really need a new one. Or, at least, I want a new laptop of my own again. Maybe I can mug the Tooth Fairy and steal all her cash. Little kids don't need money anyway.

U2 need to release their new album. I'm getting antsy, especially with the things Eno's saying.

I was in this HUGE mansion that was all in gorgeous, polished, dark wood panelling (think Prof. Henry Higgins townhouse in My Fair Lady, not an '80s-tastic basement rec room). There were at least 10 floors in this place, with the top 3 just devoted to an extensive libary that was open to the public. I was a guest of...someone and was just exploring the place (there was even a screening room where something was playing, but it had already started and I hate watching movies when they've already started). The upper floors were gallery-ed, which was making my heights-induced vertigo kick in (I physically felt my heights reaction while asleep). Anyway, there were lots of random people around, including a woman dressed as Mary Poppins in the way they do at DisneyWorld, and I was disappointed that the Genetic Anthropology section was roped off as being available "For Family Members Only".

Anyway, so apparently, I was there for an actual reason: the most bizarre triathlon of all time. It was organized to test the three aspects of being a great witch or wizard in the Potterverse sense: Mental, Physical, and Magical. The first came in the racing of little bots that we each were supposed to design and create. Mine looked like a pink mouse. The controls for all of them had to be attached to the bot itself, and the course was more a test of maneuverability than speed. I was in second and gaining as we got to the second stage: a swimming race. The weird thing was, though, that they had purposely flooded the house for this, but had somehow gotten the water to go upstairs without the water levels rising all over the house (I guess that's the benefit of magic). The last was a test of our magic skills, but I woke up before I got to that, probably because my brain was confused about swimming up a staircase.

Wonder if Arshe is free October 2nd or 4th to see Matt Nathanson...
