I. Absolutely incredibly obsessed with Fiction Plane's single "Two Sisters". Seriously - cannot.stop.listening! Every time I hear it (including on the radio!) I start dancing. The entirety of their new album is excellent, but the single in particular is fabulous. Joe Sumner may sound a lot like his dad, but the band on a whole has a lot more of a Radiohead/U2 influence with a healthy dash of Seattle grunge mixed in for good measure.

Oh, and apparently the whole of the Sumner clan is slowly planning a take-over of the music industry. Sting and Trudie Styler's daughter Coco made her debut after the Police show at the Garden on 8/1. (Article here)

II. I dyed my hair yesterday. It's now kind of a strawberry blonde. It didn't come out quite as well as I had hoped, but I was so bored with the mousey brown that I'm happy for any change. I'm getting it cut tomorrow after work, so hopefully I'll like the color/cut combination more than the color alone. If it's still too flat, I'll streak it.

III. Hamlet finally came out on DVD today! *dance of joy* This has been eleven years in the making, people. I'll probably watch it (at least in part) tomorrow. And Matt Nathanson's album officially came out today *cough*buyit!*cough*, but my (autographed) copy hasn't arrived quite yet. Sorright, though, as it leaked months ago. ;)

IV. A bunch of us saw The Bourne Ultimatum on Sunday. Thumbs up, indeed. Everything was tied up nicely, but (much like Pirates and pretty much every other movie series lately) it's still open for more adventures if they want to do them. Good amount of gratuitous explosions, badass fights, and actual exciting plot. Excellent summer movie-ness.

V. As I'm on #5 (in Roman numerals, no less), I finished V for Vendetta the other day. I liked it, but I think I like the movie better. Though, the ending plotwise was better in the graphic novel (sadly, sans explosion, but happily, sans love story). I really should get that on DVD...

VI. My Last.FM charts still crack me up.

U2 have more than three times as many plays as the next highest artist, but then mostly everything else is decently close together (granted, Chris Cornell has 15 more spins than Josh Ritter, but 15 compared to 152...).

I have to be up in about 7 hours. Time for bed.
