Seeing as the New York Times are a bunch of whores, having shelled out what will probably be revealed to be obscene amounts of money, I must now sequester myself from the Internet for a while. You, see, said newspaper has gotten and reviewed Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows. I won't provide the URL, as I don't want to even *see* it (and I don't want to be an enabler to spoilers), but it's there. But I refuse to get spoiled. I've never anticipated reading a book this much in my entire life, and I don't want the experience ruined by some uppity yuppies trying to get the scoop over the other news outlets. So, no TV, no Internet, no radio, nada until I finish the book this weekend. I'm only going to make a cameo appearance to see The Tempest on Saturday night. And if I so much as hear "Harry Potter" (because, having to be at the store until about 3:30AM for the midnight release, I know I'm not going to finish it in one day), I'm plugging up my ears and humming loudly. :P
Oh, but before I go - The History Boys (movie, not play) was disappointing, but enjoyable. It suffered from being too obviously play-like. The script is made for the stage, and the translation to screenplay was a little wanting. The Holiday was adorable overall, with some points of annoyance because I don't like Cameron Diaz. But mostly, lovely, fluffy fun. And Kate Winslet is a goddess.
Okay. Goodbye for a wee bit. To all the Potter-ites, enjoy the book! Have some Kleenex handy for when Ron kicks it. Viva Sirius!
