Of Italian Food and Indie 4-Year-Olds

As I mentioned yesterday, I had dinner out with my parents, my cousin Amy (the one in Texas I lived with summer '05), her husband Corey, and their daughter Madeleine (known by all as Maddy). Great Italian place outside Trenton, where none of us could finish our meals, because they gave us so much food. All around a great night out with some of my favorite family.

But, by far, the highlight of the night was Maddy listing her favorite bands. Now, Corey is a big music fan; he's always up on the best bands, both new and old. His and Amy's music collection is fantastic. So, Maddy gets exposed to really great stuff that most children wouldn't.

And Maddy's favorite bands? - Neko Case, Broken Social Scene, and Arctic Monkeys! Plus, Corey had told me the other day that she loves Josh Ritter's album The Animal Years, especially the first track (he, Amy, and I had been raving over how much we love it).

This four-year-old child from Texas has cooler taste in music than I do! :D
