"On your lips, on your lips, on your lips, I'm suspended"

Me (to Matt): I just saw your show up in Boston a few weeks ago. I was there with my friend Terri, the girl obsessed with "Illusions".
Matt: Oh, right, yeah!
Me: You know, she's the one who laughed so loudly in the middle of "Lost Myself In Search Of You" at that really inappropriate moment.
Matt: Excellent. Tell her I said thanks and that I really appreciate that. *smiles*

"Car Crash" (I think that's the name of the new song), "Church Clothes", "Lost Myself...", "Princess" (!!), "Angel/I Saw", "Detroit Waves", and "Answering Machine". And lots and lots of amusing stage banter, as per usual. He totally made some Matt converts in the Lifehouse crowd; they were definitely singing along the "I could fall a lonely fall if I could fall away" bit in "Answering Machine".

My favorite Matt!quote of the night (well, more or less what he said):
"I've always wanted to come here to Sayreville, New Jersey. I'm totally serious. I will play the entirety of Slippery When Wet in a totally non-ironic way. This is like Mecca for me. Because, when I was a kid, Bon Jovi was my God. And Freehold is right around here! Do you know who's from fucking Freehold? Bruce Springsteen! You people don't know it, but you live in a Mecca of awesome."

All in all, we had mucho fun tonight. Nothing to put you in a good mood like seeing Matt Nathanson live (and Lifehouse and Matt White were also very good!). And Matt told Arshe she was beautiful (which, of course, she is). I've never seen her so shy! But it was so cute. :)

Oh, and Terri, he had the Motörhead Ace of Spades shirt on again. *g*
