Another great day. Much fatigue, and went back to bed twice, but feeling happy and relaxed.

Up at 6am for rugby, England running wild upon Romania and New Zealand likewise upon France (but having had to resort to the infamous Kapo o Panga to get themselves up for their nemesis team).

Besides being the kind of post I read with great pleasure, this has made me wonder: "what happened to the immense pleasure I took from cooking all those dishes that people liked so much?" Dunno. I just stopped. Do you suppose at the grand age of fifty-odd I can still make a comeback of legend?

Always possible. The grand age of fifty-odd is no obstacle. I'm thinking you should address yourself to the guest list; the menu will follow naturally once that's taken care of.

When I was married, we used to have a written list interspersed with joky examples of what was *never* to be served, such as deep-fried witchety grubs. I really miss that list.
