Miscellania

I know, I know- I'm a strange, strange girl. We'll get that out of the way now.

But whatever the (doubtless numerous) reasons for that, this one is currently my favorite: doing and taking care of a load of laundry is more energizing for me than a nap. Sure, I could do both at once, actually, waiting for things to go through the machines and whatnot. But why bother? Something about a neatly-folded pair of pants just makes me happy ^_^

I also discovered today that Amazon has a daily free MP3 download. Yay new music! Wish I'd seen it yesterday when I ordered my CDs...could've gotten that music, too...oh well. I've got Green Day's latest, the Queen of the Damned soundtrack (to replace the one which went on a voyage to Alabama never to return), and the latest from The All-American Rejects, which, sad as it may be, are quite possibly the only band I could ever potentially call my favorite. Yes, I know all their stuff sounds the same. They know it too. Thus the wild change in the latest album...I admit, it had to grow on me a little. I was disappointed in "Gives You Hell" when I first heard it, and now I can't get enough of it. Joe says I sound waaaaaaay too happy singing along, heheh...think it's because if I left a relationship bitter, that's exactly the sort of shit I'd be saying. But despite the incredibly similar beginnings to 80% of their songs, I can still tell which one each is within the first seven seconds of play. Don't know if I can call them my for-serious favorite, though. I just like too much stuff to have a real and honest favorite. Besides that the dominant genre of my listening shifts now and then. So some weeks it's Tchaikovsky (another contestant for favorite), others it's The Beatles, others Styxx, and still others Ian Van Dahl and DJ Sammy. Too many choices, really.

Yellow has been jumping out at me lately. Don't know what it is.

Why the hell are all the girls barefoot on So You Think You Can Dance? I could understand while dancing; sure, it's not great for the costume, but it makes it easier to feel your maneuvers. But just holding down the stage while waiting to hear if you sucked last week? Pourquoi? Whatever. I'm a fan of barefoot, really- I just found it a bit odd for a TV show.

Fucking Wendy's commercials. They really, really suck this time. Seriously. DIE. Though I do wholeheartedly reccomend trying the Frosty-cino [frostee cheeno- not seeno; it annoys the HELL out of us], it's delicious. I get mine made with chocolate frosty, which you have to ask for, because I don't like the coffee taste all THAT much, and it's REALLY strong if you get it the way it comes.

Wow that was a lot of capital letters. Blargh.

Chris and I are going to Mackinac sometime in July. So I'm not spending money on anything but gas until then. At least as best I can- I'm trying to get my room more organized, so there may be money spent on those sorts of things. But otherwise, it's being saved for the trip. Yes, I know- this means I could go to Starwood this summer. And I'd love to- but it's one or the other, and I think (at least right now) I will enjoy this trip more than I would the festival. Places I've never been with my Turtle, just the two of us for (we're thinking, anyway) five days. And water- water! Lots and lots of water!! It will be good for me, I think. I love living water like the lakes...just gorgeous things, they are. Nothing warms my heart quite like a grand body of water like that. Gods I miss the ocean...

Also, bonfire a week from today. 9pm. My place. Give me a call or whatever if you're interested and didn't get the facebook invite.

(felt like seeing Spaz again...he's my little blonde boy, above, who was with me for only a couple years. May or may not still be alive back in the trailer park. I don't know. But I miss him. So he's here to accompany my lolcats reference.)
