"I could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine."

I can pluck Mr Darcy's strings but I can't seem to stop the bow from bouncing.

Mr Darcy is my violin. Darcy for short. I am in love with him, but he is so difficult to master.

I'm very much a beginner - I've played the piano and guitar before but the violin is very different. I probably should have waited before starting these lessons, but I'm determined to start something and continue it, for probably the first time in my life. I have an endless list of projects that I never finished and probably never will, but I really want this one to work.

I started a job at the Lobster Pot restaurant in Kennington, Friday night and worked last night as well. It went ok, but last night was horrendously busy and I did have a few minor disasters. As far as I'm aware they want me to come back. Ha, oh well.

It's a great restaurant though, I've been going there for years. Their sons have opened up a Brasserie next door as well which is gorgeous, called the Toulouse-Lautrec (they're a French family) but financially they're having a bit of trouble. Fingers crossed they manage to pick themselves up, as it would be such a shame to lose them.
