1: I should really know better
I don't know what possessed me to buy cheddar cheese-flavored Cup Noodles to have around for lunch, but they are extraordinarily vile. But it could get worse, and did, when I ate my "creamy alfredo"-flavored ones. I have decided to test how desperate the graduate students around here are for food; I left my "white cheddar cheese"-flavored one in the kitchen in plain view with no name on it; I wonder how long before someone eats it? When they do, I'll assume it would be a grad student.
2: They should really know better
In related news, I have seen what is perhaps the least funny thing I have ever seen in my life. It's an ad on Comedy Central for a collection of Christmas Carols sung by Saddam Hussein. Only, obviously, it's not really Saddam. It's being sold by some actor dressed in a military uniform like Saddam's but otherwise reminds me in no way whatsoever of Saddam Hussein. For one thing, he smiles a lot. Furthermore, the songs have extremely little to do with Christmas, but rather, are extremely poorly-written parodies of Christmas carols, such as "Away in a Jail Cell" to the tune of "Away in a Manger."
It's unfunny on so many levels. The idea of Saddam Hussein singing Christmas Carols isn't funny. But then, he isn't actually singing Christmas Carols anyway. The songs aren't funny. The topic of most of the songs is "I'm going to be executed," or something along those lines, which is not funny. I've seen things in the past which were so unfunny they actually were funny, but somehow this avoided that very well by being extraordinarily annoying on top of not funny. Comedy Central should stop running this ad: I bet it'll make people change the channel.
